KNOW THE TRUTH

FAITH CAPSULE: Get to know the truth of God, but not know about the truth.

Proverbs 12

Knowing the truth of God is the expectation of true believers before God.
Knowing the truth of God is having faith.
Knowing the truth of God shall make one be free from carrying the mark of wicked ones before God. Wicked ones cannot hide from God as Bible records, “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)
Wicked ones have the word of truth in their mouth but not in the heart. Jeremiah 12:1-2, “Righteous are You, O Lord when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously? You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.”
Truly faithful is what we need to live in life to please God by not having heart continually occupied with evil.
What is your heart before God?
It is how you carry the word of God in your heart, but not in your mouth that will testify about your faithfulness.
Seek God diligently, have faith which is the evidence of knowing the truth of God.
The Bible described faith, “…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” (Hebrews 11:1-3)
In this description of faith, it is clear that two things will happen in the life of the truthful believer: Obtaining good testimony; Understanding the word.
Obtaining good testimony:
Good testimony is God’s testimony. When good testimony is obtained, it settles forever. For example, Abraham obtained God testimony when he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:8-10)
Sarah: By faith, she obtained good testimony where there is no evidence of her expectation.
Bible recorded for Sarah, “By faith, Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age because she judged Him faithful who had promised.” (Hebrews 11:11)
Just like Abraham and Sarah, faithful men such as Noah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses were able to obey God and obtained good testimonies.
Understanding the word: Understanding the word of God will cause a man to stand as a believer in this wicked world. Understanding is the key to apply knowledge. For any who clearly understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, there should never be a faith failure. Having understanding is to know that the word of God which framed the world is more than enough for one to obey, dwell and wait on word of God in engaging and overcoming the challenges of life as one who is in command.
Get to know the truth to live life for the glory of God.

Prayer for today: Ask God to make you give self to His word that is true.

IT IS POSSIBLE!

FAITH CAPSULE: Dwell and abide in the word of God.

Psalm 91, John 8:31-47

When you give less to the word of God the world will occupy your life for eternal destruction.
Jesus spoke the truth to those who believe, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)
The word of God is His way not to live a life of waste.
Knowing the truth is not the same as knowing about the truth.
Knowing the truth will not be a liar, deceptive to become a manipulator.
Knowing the truth is to fear God to become free.
Any acclaimed believer that dwells in the word of God is positioned not to drift away from God. One that drifts away from the word of God is neglecting great salvation.
Hebrews 2:1 admonished us, “…we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” To live life as a believer that is true and not live as a liar, must give the more earnest heed to the word of God.
Are you living life as a true believer?
Through the pages of the bible, the word of God repeatedly admonished man to be a true believer stating, “…give the more earnest heed to the things heard in the word of God”.
The word of God demands from believers to, “…give the more…” Asking us to “…give the more…” is asking for seeking God’s word with diligence. Word is not asking us to give casual attention to the word of God. Giving more earnest heed in the word of God is a serious intention and having regard to the word that will make one become a true believer.
To be a true believer is not by quoting bible verses, by attending fellowship or holding a position in the fellowship gathering.
Also, to be exposed to bible teaching and not be imparted by the word is the evidence of not giving earnest heed in the word of God.
Today, are you busy for the world more than giving earnest heed in the word of God. When a believer gives less to the word of God the world will occupy more of the believer.
You can be a liar; you can deceive the world, but God cannot be deceived.
Today, you should know that the word of God is steadfast and unfaltering as a source of the great salvation. Give more earnest heed in the word of God, let truth take over in your life. Proverbs 12:22 said it all, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.”

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace to be a true believer.

SEPTEMBER 2019 FAITH-MAIL

THE PRESENCE OF GOD

The word of God is God.

John 1:1 confirms, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The word of God is God which is also the presence of God.
At a time when Jonah walked away from God’s word (His direction), The book of Jonah 1:1-3 records that Jonah went away from the presence of God.
The word of God is the presence of God that needs to be received, obediently for one’s direction and preservation, not to become a victim of the wicked world.
Are in a position of disobedient to God’s word, walking away from the presence of God?
The word of God is a living word that is not stagnated but move, to locate anyone for God’s direction as God purposes.
Pages of the Bible testifies how the word of God, the presence of God came to locate some for direction:
Genesis 15:1, “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
1Kings 6:11 “Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying…”
For, Elijah to receive provision from God, through a widow, “Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” (1 Kings 17:8-9)
Jeremiah testifies, “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying…” (Jeremiah 1:4)
John the Baptist word came to him just like Jonah, “…the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins” (Luke 3:2-3)
In the days of the Bible, the word of God came, today, the word of God is still coming to locate one for directions which will keep one in the presence of God.
When the word of God (the presence of God) comes to you, as a direction in life, obey but do not be disobedient, to avoid self-destruction.
The word of God came to Jonah, but he disobeyed to miss the presence of God.
The Bible records, “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” 3 But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so, he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.” (Jonah 1:1-3) Jonah’s disobedience to God’s word of direction is identified as Jonah’s fleeing from the presence of God.
Without doubt, disobedience to walk against the word of God (the presence of God) is the avenue to destruction.
Jonah’s disobedient of God placed him into the STORM at SEA.
Bible records, “But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea so that the ship was about to be broken up.” (Jonah 1:4)
Disobedient to the word of God is walking from the presence of God into the distance.
Are you walking away from the word of God?
A man can survive living or walking in disobedient to the word of God (the presence of God) for some time but will not be possible to survive the time of destruction without returning to the word of God, the presence of God.
Disobedient to God’s word is wickedness before God, the evidence of having the word of God, near in the mouth but far from the mind. (Jeremiah 12:1-2)
Are you living a life of Jonah?
Jonah received the word of God but not in his mind to do according to God’s direction.
Are you living a life of Jonah?
God is never the author of one’s trouble but walking away from the living word of God, the presence of God will lead to troubling challenges, a STORM of destruction, the kind of Jonah’s experience in the STORM of destruction.
As a disobedient to God’s direction, no one with you on the same journey will have an excuse before God not experience your trouble.
Think of your walking away from God as a source of trouble to all around you also.
For a man to arrive at the expected end of the journey of life, disobedient to the word of God must be eliminated by giving self to obeying God’s word (the presence of God) continually.

KNOWING GOD’S WONDER

FAITH CAPSULE: With understand, know God’s wonders to avoid a life of sin before God.

Psalm 106

Lack of understanding the wonders of God; forgetting the works of God and failure to believe God is a route of sin. The above mentioned were apparent among the Israelites and is evident in man today.
Lack of Understanding the wonders of God:
Bible recorded, “Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; they did not remember the multitude of your mercies but rebelled by the sea-the Red Sea.” (Psalm 106:7) Lack of understanding leads to rebellion, complaint, a negative confession.
The Israelites confessed in Numbers 14:1-4, “…And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt…?”
They sin and God responded, “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness…” (Numbers 14:28-30)
Understanding is not of the mouth but the heart.
It is through understanding to know that having life today is not a merit, it is the mercy of God.
One with the understanding of God’s wonders will always remember God and not be a rebellious one because, “Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it…” (Proverbs 16:22)
Wellspring is a source of abundant supply.
One with understanding will have an abundance of life which Jesus brought for all man.
One with sin because of lack of understanding, life becomes wasted like the Israelites that sin and died in the wilderness.
Forgetting the works of God:
“They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert.” (Psalm 106:13-14) If a man fails by not become mindful of God’s works, the spirit of forgetfulness shall lead to sin. The Israelites forgot; they could not wait on God but died in sin and not get to the Promised Land.
Failure to believe God:
“Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His word” (Psalm 106:24)
They despised the meaning of God’s words and took a wrong way outside of God’s plan for their life. Disobeying the word of God is the evidence of lack of belief. God promised to take them to the Promised Land but spy’s negative testimonies provoked unbelieving act. God is holy and with sin, no man can reach God.
Just like the Israelites, man does not understand the wondrous acts of God, forgetting the works of God and failure to believe God is the sinful route of untimely death.

Prayer for today: Ask God to deliver you from the known and unknown route of sin.

PROVOKE GOD’S GOODNESS

FAITH CAPSULE: Responsible for the word of God will provoke the goodness of God.

Daniel 1

A choice to be a responsible one does have consequence.
Being responsible is the price of greatness.
When a man chooses to be responsible in response to the word of God is what set to live life for the glory of God.
Jesus frequently and unswervingly communicated humility by His words and His action throughout His ministry on the face of the earth. Jesus’ demonstration of humility is for our learning.
Humility is a choice to be responsible. The word of God pointed out that without humility, obeying the word of God becomes impossible. Philippians 2:8 buttressed, “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Jesus, our Lord, and savior chose to be humbled and responded with obedience. Jesus’ humbled Himself and became obedient that made Him great for the glory of God.
How responsible are you in the word of God?
Daniel was responsible to attain the price of greatness for the glory of God.
The bible records about Daniel, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.  Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.”(Daniel 1:8-9) Daniel’s responsibility did not only provoke favor and goodwill of God before the chief of the eunuchs but through all his day of captivity.
Through the life of Daniel, the choice of responsibility was glaring as he avoided wickedness against the covenant. The book of Daniel 11:32 identified for our learning, “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
Is wickedness your way that leads to becoming irresponsible?
Do you have the desire to be great for the glory of God?
Without doubt, to be built by the word is a direct route of choosing to become responsible which is the price of greatness. In life, commend to the word of God. Apostle Paul admonished us, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
Be responsible to live life for God’s glory!
Jesus has paid the price, are you doing your part to get to the place He paid for all to be?
From today, be responsible, live life for the glory of God, provoking His goodness over your life.

Prayer for today: Ask from God’s enablement for your life to be responsible in His word.
