AVOID ASSUMPTIONS

FAITH CAPSULE: Man should not live life in assumptions that seems right.

Jonah 1

It is written, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” (Psalm 103:7) The ways of God are in the word of God. The words of God are the acts of God while His acts are His direction and His testimonies. Living life in the word of God is living in the ways of God. Also living in the acts of God is living by keeping the testimonies of God. Man should not live life in assumptions that seems right. The bible stated, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) In your ways of life, are you allowing assumptions to take you for ride or your allowing the ways of God to take charge in the ways of life? In this world, take to the ways of God!
Just like Moses, those that walk in the ways of God walks in His law and they are blessed. Psalm 119:1 buttressed, Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!” Ones that keep the testimonies of God live by the ways of God and they are blessed. Psalm 119:2 also buttressed, “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart.” The word of God cannot be broken. It is important to know the ways God, to keep His acts that which are His testimonies to enable seeking God diligently. For those who seek Him diligently, the word of God promised, I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.” (Proverbs 8:17) “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) As an acclaimed believer, embrace His ways and meditate His acts to become a diligent seeker of the Lord God.
Are you answering to your calling? Truly, answering to God’s calling is to come out and not hide. Ways of God and the acts of God comes along with His calling.  To hide from God’s calling is turning back to God’s calling, walking away from His presence. In this wicked world, there is a need to answer fully to the word (way) of God and not give self to one’s ways of assumption. Jonah turned to his way despite hearing from God and the presence of God deserted Him. It is written, “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord…” (Jonah 1:1-3) God has made known His ways and acts to man in the pages of bible and it is for man to engage His ways for His glory.

Prayer for today: Ask God for His grace to give self to His ways for His glory.

YOUR ENDEAVOR

FAITH CAPSULE: A failure to disengage multitude is an engagement to failure in endeavor.

Numbers 14:1-35

In every endeavor, to achieve expected result man must continually give attention to deny agents of multitude. Agents of multitude are hindrance for man’s endeavor in the journey of life. Agent of multitude can be a man’s family, friend or crowd which can be a man’s hindrance. Are you engaging any agent of multitude? In life, among the major hindrance of man’s endeavor is engaging multitude. A failure to disengage multitude is an engagement to failure in endeavor. The bible recorded, “Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.  A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock.” (Exodus 12:37-38) Evidently, when the children of Israel were coming out of the bondage of over hundred years, multitude accompanied them and played a major role denying them from getting through to God’s Promised Land for them.
As the Israelites progressed on journey, the effect of mixed multitude manifested negatively. It is written, “Now the mixed multitudes who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” (Numbers 11:4-6)
Mixed multitude was the source of intense craving for what was not important in their journey to their God Promised Land. Imagine coming out of captivity or bondage and not focusing on promises of God in life? Does your endeavor sound like that of Israelites journey with multitude? Israelites were counting on what was in the past instead of counting on the miracles that brought them out of their past. In your endeavor, count not on no man, commit to God. God alone performs, He is more than able to perfect when there is commitment in place to Him. The craving of the Israelites dug the grave for twenty years old above in journey to Promised Land (Joshua and Caleb arrived Promised Land)
Multitude among Israelites was a great source of complaint to God instead of complimenting God for His grace of deliverance. God responded, As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:  The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.  Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.” (Numbers 14:27-30) Give attention to God alone by denying agents of multitude in your endeavor.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace to identify and deny every agents of multitude in your journey of life.

UNFAILING ROUTE

FAITH CAPSULE: Testimonies of God will convey a true believer into confirmation of God’s wonder.

1 Samuel 17

Testimony of God over the life of man is one of the routes to arrive at expected end in the journey of life. Testimony is evidence in support of the wonders of God. Testimony is an open declaration or profession, as of faith.
The testimonies of God will convey a true believer into confirmation of God’s wonder. In the battle of David and Goliath, David testified God’s doing, “…The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine…” (1 Samuel 17:37) David’s testimony of God’s doing over his life conveyed him to the center of God confirming victory for David over Goliath. By testimony, David’s victory was his transportation for the transformation of his story of life for the glory of God.
Continually, meditating on what God has done and all that He is doing in man’s life is keeping God’s testimony. Are keeping testimonies of God by constantly meditating His testimonies over your life? The Psalmist knew and confessed about testimonies of God in Psalm 119:2, “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart! Keeping His testimonies is setting self-up to serve Him and not rebel by complaining. Psalm 119: 24, “Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.” Psalm 119:46, “I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings and will not be ashamed.” The testimonies of God are all the things that He has done, the things that He is doing, and the evidence of what He can do. His testimonies are worthy of mediation.
The testimony of God is what a believer needs to plead case before God. Isaiah 45:26 stated, Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted.” Do you have any testimony to remind God when presenting your case before God? In the battle of David against Goliath, David had testimony of what God has done over his life when he stated his case before God. David’s testimony reminded God and God gave him victory over Goliath. God is faithful to honor His word.
The children of Israel needed to continually give to testimonies of God as their transportation through wilderness journey to God’s Promised Land. In the place of God’s testimonies over their life complaint took charge. Complaint transformed transportation of eleven days journey to forty years journey for the Israelites. Are you experiencing a time of wandering where you are to be experiencing wonder of God in your world?
God promised to take them to the Promised Land. He showed them great and mighty signs in Egypt, and they could not meditate to keep His testimony.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace to help in keeping His testimony constantly.

LOCATION NOT TO MISS HIS VISITATION

FAITH CAPSULE: Engage His secret place as a dwelling place to be locating His visitation.

2 Kings 19

With prophesy or declaration over the new month as: “Month of God’s visitation”, man must gain and retain God’s location to avoid missing visitation God. Among location not to miss God’s visitation is dwelling in the secret place of God. What is it about dwelling in the secret place of God as the location not to miss His visitation?
For example, reading and not studying the word of God can be compared to going into the presence of God and coming out without spending reasonable time to gain from God. Studying and living life by the word of God is an evidence of dwelling in the secret place of God. The word of God is not just a story but in it are the secrets that keep one to dwell under shadow of the Almighty God. Psalm 91:1 stated, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Without any doubt, there is no other place where a believer should dwell and abide not to miss His visitation. The secret of God is in the word of God. Studying and learning to gain understand, knowing God in His word is having a place in the secret of God. Word of God, the secret of God is unfailing promise that is beyond any man’s imagination. Engage His secret place as a dwelling place to be locating His visitation.
In addition to be expecting and not to miss God’s visitation is to watch and pray. Word repeatedly admonished need to watch and pray. Temptation is one to draw man outside of God’s location for God’s visitation at God’s appointed time. Matthew 26:41 warned, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” It is important to watch and pray not to miss when God comes with visitation.
In time of challenge with the need for direction, waiting patiently must be in place not to miss out of God’s visitation for God’s direction. Documentation of Elijah’s need for direction in time of his challenge made him to take location of waiting on God’s visitation. For Elijah it is written, “Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, butthe Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (2 Kings 19:11-13)
Taking location before God will allow not to miss His visitation.

Prayer for today: Ask God for grace to keep you in location not to miss His visitation.

GOD OF VISITATION

FAITH CAPSULE: God will cause you to preside over your persecutors.

Jeremiah 52

What God said to one speaks to all. It is written, God spoke to Moses how to identify His name, “…The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.” (Exodus 3:15) There is none like God that makes a way where there is no way. God shares no name with no any other god. Whatever holds man down is not beyond of God’s deliverance. Regardless of how long you have been held down, God’s visitation shall deliver salvation. God is enthroned and sits as king forever.
Jehoiachin had been in captivity for thirty-seven years when God raised his head and brought him out of captivity. “Now it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, that Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison.” (Jeremiah 52:31) God used Evil-Merodach, the king of Babylon and son of Nebuchadnezzar, to lift up the head of Jehoiachin. God will use anyone to lift you from every challenge that is keeping your head down. Evil-Merodach was in the hand of God to lift the head of Jehoiachin. When God remembers, He also rescues. Having used Evil-Merodach to rescue Jehoiachin, God also made him to change the garment of Jehoiachin from that of a prisoner to that of one who eats regularly before the king all the days of his life. God is true to perform, and He performs with perfection.
There is nothing which God is incapable of doing and His capability has no measure. It is the same God that visited Daniel in the den of hungry lions. God’s visitation caused the lions not to have appetite for fresh meat even though the lions were starving to have meat. Are you waiting on Him in prayer concerning a challenge that seems unmovable? Continually trust and hope in God by waiting on Him. Your time of concerning challenge is not the time to stop waiting in prayer but to top up your waiting in prayer to God. God is a prayer-answering God. Know it and make it a note in your heart, get the understanding that God who brought Israelites out of the bondage of over four hundred years will convert your challenge to a glorious change. God alone is Jehovah Sharma and He will hear to answer at the calling of His Name.
Stand in faith by calling on God’s forever name. With faith God is pleased, without faith God is not pleased. Proverbs 16:7 buttressed, “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” With faith, please God to experience His visitation.

Prayer for today: Ask God to remember you and visit you with salvation.
