Only Trust In God

FAITH CAPSULE: Insist on your miracle; resist doubt and you shall be victorious.

Esther 3

As one that trusts in God, your enemy cannot be more powerful. Challenges that stand as a mountain shall be removed to the glory of God. Insist on your miracle; resist doubt and you shall be victorious. The children of Israel had insurmountable challenges in the city of Shushan, yet they did not allow their challenges to have them when they refused to bow to any god. An evil guardian by the name of Haman, the son of Hammedatha, who had just been given promotion to a higher position, put a decree in place. Haman wanted all to bow, “When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath. But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him of the people of Mordecai. Instead, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus—the people of Mordecai.(Esther 3:5-6) Haman had all the resources that would be needed to carry out his evil agenda against the children of Israel: money, power, speed, position and all that one can think of as a weapon of carrying out successful evil plans. If you will trust in the name of God, every representative of Haman in your life will not prevail. Esther 3:13, “And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions.” The plan of Haman was set and put in place against the children of Israel, but God upset the plan and purpose of the wicked Haman. It does not matter at which level of government, or speed of operation or power of the devil that has been put in place to destroy you. The plan and purpose of God for your life will not fail over you in the name of Jesus. Thank God for God. Before the entire wicked plan of Haman was conjured, God had raised help for the children of Israel by making Esther to become the queen. It was a miracle for Esther to turn out and be the channel of salvation for the Jews in Shushan. With man all is impossible, but to God nothing is impossible when He turns around to use man in changing impossibilities to possibilities. Haman, the evil agent, was forced to honor Mordecai. It is miraculously amazing how God turns situations around to favor those who trust in His name. Keep up hope and God will not let you down for His name to be glorified.

Prayer for today: In You I trust O Lord. Deliver me in Your righteousness.

Are You Down?

FAITH CAPSULE: It is impossible to fall down before the Lord and not rise up for His Name to be glorified.

Luke 5:12-15

Jesus the Healing Healer is always passing and available to anyone that will see and call on Him for His touch.” And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” (Luke 5:12) A man who did not just have leprosy, but was full of leprosy saw Jesus. The fullness of his leprosy was a demonstration that he was not only having leprosy, but leprosy had him. When one is down in a situation that is beyond comprehension, one can miss and not see when the Healing Healer is passing. Today, how are you handling the situation that is beyond your control? Are you looking to see Jesus in it? It is one thing to be in a situation and not down; it is another to be in a situation and be down in such situation. If you are in a situation that is beyond your control, there will be a need to see Jesus either through prayer; through the Word of His grace as documented in the pages of the Bible or through giving Him praise and worship. The children of Israel were not just in bondage for over four hundred years, but they were also down in it until God declared, “And I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” (Exodus 3:17) The same God who was yesterday, today and tomorrow will bring you out of all that is keeping you down in all the down areas of life. The man with the leprosy fell down before the King of kings because he acknowledged the power that Jesus carries. It was a parallel flat down fall whereby he had his face down and in that fall, he called for help. He knew that the grace to give belongs only unto Jesus. As a result, he was submissive in his request by stating, “Lord, if you are willing”. (Luke 5:12)  The man with leprosy needed a miracle that would bring him up from where he was down. It is impossible to fall down before the Lord and not rise up for His Name to be glorified. God wants to be glorified because He is the King of Glory. Jesus will not be unwilling concerning all that confronts us. He will help in all that represents all kinds of infirmities in our lives when we are able to see and call on His name.

Prayer for today: Call on Jesus to bring you out of the down areas of your life.

Base-Shifting Miracle

FAITH CAPSULE:Jesus wants us to launch and give it up for Him to pick it up.

Luke 5:1-12

“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’” (Luke 5:4) This was a command that came after Jesus had finished speaking. It was not a suggestion; neither was it an idea. For Him to command Simon to launch was an indication that all Simon needed was already waiting in the deep. All Simon had to do was obey the Lord’s command. There are so many ways today that He is telling us to launch into the deep where our eyes cannot see what is deposited there in the deep. The inability of not being able to see what lies in the deep continues to make it difficult for us to launch into the deep just has He commanded in the pages of Bible. God is not a liar and He will not cause us to make a move where there is no available provision for our good. The problem with launching into the deep without having a breakthrough is rooted in the lack of complete obedience. Jesus’ command is not only to launch into the deep, but to launch and let down. In all of your launching, have you seriously been letting it down? Have you been partially letting it down or after launching, have you been holding back and not letting down? His command to Simon was clear and direct enough to generate the expected result for Simon. Is it clear enough to you that when you launch into the deep and let down as He commanded, you will come up with the grace of abundance? Launching into the deep and not letting down is an evidence of struggle and anxiety. It does us no good to give our problems to Jesus and then turn around and take them back by continuing to worry and doubt. Jesus wants us to launch and give it up for Him to pick it up. Simon and his fellow professional fishermen launched, let down their nets and they were able to see a miracle that turned them around into following Jesus to where they would never fail to catch and gain for the Kingdom’s glory. The fishermen did not only have a break through in their obedience, but the spirit of God also caught them. Luke 5:11, “So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsake all and followed Him.” It was a base-shifting miracle for the fishermen. The same word that sounded for the fishermen is still sounding for us today and the word is to launch into the deep things of God and allow Him to take over by letting it down for Him to pick us up from where we have let it down.

Prayer for today: Help my unbelief my Lord and my God; cause me to be constantly obedient to Your word.

Abiding In The Word

FAITH CAPSULE: If there is no abidance in the Word of God, there will be no abundance of His work in the life of the acclaimed believer.

John 15:1-11

The Word that was sent to them in the Bible days is the same word we are receiving today. It is written, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! (Psalm 107:20-21) He sent His Word; it is not written that He will send His word. The Word of God is sent for our use and advantage over every circumstance because there is no circumstance that is bigger than the living Word of God. God sent His Word to us as power that brings wonderful works to life. Is the Word of God working as much as it should be working for all the acclaimed receivers of the word? The Word of God will only work when we walk in the Word of God; not just when we work where the word is being preached. Many are walking in the word and they are reaping the results, many others, however, are working where the word is being preached but the word is not working as expected. It is not enough to be entering where the Word is being preached when there is a failure to abide in the word. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (John 15:5-7) Jesus stated clearly here that abiding in Him and the word abiding in us is what will make the difference and it will also build the relationship that makes the Word of God to work. Any failure not to abide but just to enter is not enough and it will not work. The Word of God is entertained in the heart before it over takes in the physical, but a heart that is not simple will have no way of abiding in the word. Psalm 119:130, “The entrance of your words give light; it gives understanding to the simple.” It is not enough to be fluent in the language of the Word. If there is no abidance in the Word of God, there will be no abundance of His work in the life of the acclaimed believer. God cannot be deceived. God knows what He expects and He will give back in the same measure for His name to be glorified.

Prayer for today: Let Your Word have its place in me O Lord my God and my Savior.

The vehicle of transportation for His calling is continuity.

CONTINUITY
Whom He calls, He will always send. He has a clear and defined purpose in His calling and sending out. In every of His calling, regardless of the magnitude of the assignment, there should be in place a vehicle that will carry the called through. The vehicle of transportation for His calling is continuity. Answering God’s call will not be established in the life of the called if there is no continuity. Continuity is to be constant and consistent in focusing on God. The journey of life is like racing towards a mark, and the rule of the race is continuity. Having a purposeful mind is the officiator. When God called on Isaiah, he responded and there was no record of Isaiah falling short in continuing to answer the Lord. “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”” (Isaiah 6:8) From the time of Isaiah’s calling to the end, there was no record of discontinuity recorded against Isaiah. Daniel, despite the challenges of being held captive at a young age, was never recorded against him any iota of complaining against his God. There was no excuse for him to discontinue in serving the Lord; rather, he continued serving the Lord with his heart, and serving God became an identifiable custom in the life of Daniel. In Daniel’s life, it is clear that as a captive, continuity was carrying him and a purposeful heart became an officiator in the life of Daniel. Have you in anyway received the calling of God or you have decided to call yourself? God is not a failure and He will never fail.
POWER IN SALVATION
When He places His call on any of His creation, He will back it up with power. He alone called the children of Israel out of the bondage of over four hundred years. The Lord chose Moses to lead them out of Egypt. God frustrated the plan of Pharaoh with plagues upon plagues before Pharaoh could let them go. When it was time for the children of Israel to be released and go forward to the land that has been promised to them, they left with boldness. “And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness.” (Exodus 14:8) Despite the threat of Pharaoh the children of Israel entered into the calling of salvation and deliverance of over four hundred years with boldness. Indeed, the Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament. Just as the children of Israel received salvation from bondage so we have received salvation from bondage of the devil and the world of wickedness. At the time of salvation we entered into His calling with boldness.
BOLDNESS AND CHARACTER
Every new believer always starts the race with boldness that is rooted in the word of His promise. However, in the course of the journey, different scenes start to unfold. The children of Israel left with boldness but it did not take long before it evaporated and fear became incorporated in the life of the children of Israel. The Bible recorded in Exodus 14:10, “And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.” Boldness turned into fear. When He places His calling, it has to be answered with boldness and character. The children of Israel believed, but they could not behave what they believed. The word that took them–the word that brought us–to the saving knowledge of God is with power and it generates boldness. However, when there is a failure to be living the word, there will be no character of the word in place in the life of the believer. Boldness and character are the winning combination. Complaint is the root of rebellion and the substitute of disobedience. The children of Israel had boldness and complaint instead of boldness and character. They could not hold on to the victory the Lord placed in their hand. As a result, they became lost as a nation. God said to them, “The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.” (Numbers 14:29) Without any doubt, the race is for those that finish it. If you have received the grace of His calling, continuity is the rule of the game; a purposeful heart is the officiator. Run the race with boldness and character and you shall become a winner to the glory of God. He will back you up if you will not back yourself out of the race.

Continuity is to be constant and consistent in focusing on God.
Complaint is the root of rebellion and the substitute of disobedience.
