Line In The Sand

LINE IN THE SAND
John 8:1-12

The world today is full of sin and sinning but yet the world is always quick in passing judgment instead of being judged. The story of an adulteress woman in the book of John 8:1-12 is a clear example of the world rushing into passing judgment instead of the world being rushed into facing judgment. The story of this adulteress woman depicts an adulteress woman facing the Light of the world while the world is attempting to phase out the adulteress woman from the Light that came to save the world. Jesus, the Light of the world, stated in John 10:10, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus already came and He is here to give life; not that He is just coming. The scribes and Pharisees attempted to disrupt His teaching in the temple when an adulteress woman was brought to Jesus. “…And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, ‘Teacher, this woman was caughtin adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?’ 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him…” (John 8:3-6) In the case of adulteress woman, the world wanted to rush into judgment. As it has often been, the world that needed to be put under judgment attempting to be the judge. Jesus responded to the world (the scribes and Pharisees) when He, “…stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, ‘He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.’” (John 8:6-7) Jesus drew a line in the sand to identify those who had never been a sinner and those who were sinners. Among the world, none could cross the line of “never had been a sinner”. No man has been assigned to be a judge and Jesus spoke specifically to this when He stated in Mathew 7:1-2, “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”” Evidently, since no one could cross the line that was drawn by Jesus, no one was qualified to cast a stone of condemnation on the adulteress woman. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, declared to the woman, “…neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”(John 8:11) Have you been condemning or have you rather been under any condemnation? It is good to take to every word of Jesus. Jesus commanded the adulteress woman to go and sin no more and if you will live by His command, you too shall be free indeed.

Prayer for today: Ask the Lord to keep you away from taking any position that is outside of your calling for your life.

Identify Yourself

IDENTIFY YOURSELF
1 Samuel 17

For forty days, morning and night armies of the living God (children of Israel) suffered assault from the Philistines as they gathered for battle. The Bible referred to the leader of this assault as the champion, the Philistine of Gath, named Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:10-11, “And the Philistine said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.” 11 When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.”What is that situation in your life that has kept you so low in fear and you cannot remember who your God is? For forty days!! The armies of the living God were crawling before armies that do not have a living God. So sad! Does this sound like your case? As a believer, have you failed to remember who you are serving? When you fail to remember, you will not to enable yourself in the Lord God. Fleeing will not solve your case until you identify yourself in God and face the case. Yes, everything in the physical is pointing you out as looser of this case but all that you need to do is identify yourself in the Lord your God. Like King Saul, King Jehoshaphat faced a confronting situation with no way for escape, “And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.” (2 Chronicles 20:3-4) Jehoshaphat refused to sink in fear but he rose in faith to seek his God. Having sought God, God responded, “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:16-17) David a young man; not a listed army; saw and heard the giant that was defying the armies of the living God. He decided to stand up to Goliath. He could reach that decision because he remembered his God that delivered him from the paw of lion and the paw of bear. By being able to remember the greatness of his God, he was able to identify himself in God. His identity was his testimony that, the same God will deliver him from the hand of Goliath. The battle is not yours, let God fight for you and you will win. Jehoshaphat claimed God and won with praise while David claimed God and won by the testimonies of God. In every confronting situation of life, focus on God, phase out fear and faith will reign.

Prayer for today: Enable me O Lord to remain focus on You against every confronting situations of my life.

Bigger Calling

BIGGER CALLING
Isaiah 6

"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:1) It can be concluded that before the death of King Uzziah, Isaiah was not seeing the throne. After the death of King Uzziah, Isaiah began to see where he could not see. Also, he was able to hear from where he could not have heard before the death of King Uzziah. In life, something does have a need to move or be removed for us to receive what has been in place for us. Until the death of King Uzziah, hindrance was what king Uzziah represented to Isaiah. Hindrance will interfere in your journey by delaying or denying you from where God wants to take you. Hindrance can be a weapon of the devil. The devil has no limitation in his attempt to deny the purpose of God but, there is a limitation as to whom his victim could be. Isaiah was on time but not in tune with God until the death of King Uzziah. King Uzziah die and Isaiah saw and he was able to relate all that he saw in the presence of God. After Isaiah had been able to see, he recognized himself as one that needed a cleansing touch. He said, “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the king, The LORD of hosts” (Isaiah 6:5). Isaiah cried out in repentance and for the LORD’s cleansing in his life. Isaiah’s cry sent for a needed refinement. Isaiah 6:6, “Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it and said: Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.” The journey of destiny is beginning to take place in the life of Isaiah. Isaiah began to see;   he was able to repent and he received cleansing. The big picture began to settle in place for Isaiah. Isaiah 6:8, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.”’ There is no bigger calling in life than as receiving God’s call of assignment. King Uzziah, Isaiah saw and heard from God.

Prayer for today:Ask God to sentence every representative of King Uzziah in your life to a permanent death.

Faith In Action

FAITH IN ACTION
John 5:1-15

To rise is the evidence of faith in action. The driving force that makes rising become faith in action is not there if the rising is not immediate. This is saying that without rising immediately it does not become faith in action. Doubt, procrastination or delay, were not the pattern in the life of those that heard and responded to the command of God by rising immediately. Abraham at his very old age, with only Isaac as the promised child, God commanded him, “…Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” (Genesis 22:2) It was a difficult command that would have demanded reminding God that Isaac was the promise child. Abraham the faith practitioner asked no question neither did he doubt, but responded, “So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.” (Genesis 22:3) Abraham could not wait for morning hour by responding early in the morning. It was a faith in action for Abraham. In the healing of the man at the Pool of Bethesda, faith in action prevailed. The sick man had been at the right track of his healing but remained trapped because he was waiting for someone to put him in the pool when the water was stirred up. As recorded in the Bible for thirty eight years there was no mobility because of infirmity. As a result stagnation reigned in the life of the sick man. Are you experiencing stagnation in any area of your life? No man is going to put you through but Jesus. He is here to give life and to give it more abundantly and you are here to receive the life He brought if you will rise. The sick man at the Pool of Bethesda had an encounter with Jesus. John 5:8-9, “Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.” The sick man at the Pool of Bethesda heard the command, without procrastination or doubt and rose. The Bible made it clear that he rose immediately. An immediate response was the driving force that made his rising to be a faith in action. What sound of deliverance has been sounding in the direction of your stagnation? Has doubt or procrastination been playing a role in your life? If you will not delay your deliverance unto breakthrough you will have to rise in faith immediately.

Prayer for today: Ask God to deliver you from whatever is clouding your faith from rising immediately according to His word.

Believe And Behave

BELIEVE AND BEHAVE
John 4:46-54

It is not enough to believe the word of God and not behave His word. Jesus, the One and only Word of God was described, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.”” (John 1:14-16) The word of God is God and in the Word inhabits all the power to make and unmake. The same Word that was in the beginning is still the same Word that is today. Jesus gave the word of direction for protection from embarrassment at a wedding in Cana of Galilee where there was an unexpected lack of provision for the marriage celebration. Having departed from the wedding scene, the Bible mentioned that He went back again to Cana of Galilee. John 4:46-54, “So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.” Jesus’ second coming was different from the wedding celebration. Jesus had to deal with the situation where a child of a nobleman was sick and at the point of death. Jesus alone is capable of confronting every situation for those that will wait to see manifestation of the Word. At His second coming to Cana of Galilee, Jesus gave His word to the nobleman on behalf of the nobleman’s sick child, “Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.” (John 4:50)  The nobleman did not doubt nor question the validity of the word when he turned back and went his way as the Lord commanded. The noble man’s turning back and going his way was an evidence of behaving the word that was released for his child. Have you experienced the word sounding in your direction and needed to see a sign before behaving the word? Jesus’ mother warned the servants at the wedding of Cana of Galilee, “…Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5)The word will undoubtedly work for you when you walk just as you are commanded. If you will stay away from waiting to see the word at work before you behave (believe) the word, your miracles will become undeniable.

Prayer for today: Lord I ask this day help every area of my unbelief that I may enter into my undeniable miracles.
