Continuous Approach

Continuous approach

Lk.19:1-10

How did you receive Him when you gave your life? How are you receiving Him at all of His visitations to you? Lk.19:5, 6, and when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, ÒZacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house. So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. Zacchaeus, a short and underprivileged man that never knew he would have the privilege of receiving Jesus did not hesitate, but made haste with joy, to receive Jesus. Your salvation is not of strength or determination, it is a great privilege brought by the grace of God. How you receive salvation is what determines how you are responding to Him. Making haste with joy is not only when we first come to know Him, it should always be a continuous approach every time, and every moment of our life. He is always knocking at the door and we should always open with haste and a joyful heart. LORD, have mercy.

Follow Him

Follow Him

Lk.22:54-62

Now that He has resurrected; you have confessed Him and gave your life to the Lord, how do you follow Him? Lk.22:54, 55, having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priestÕs house. But Peter followed at a distance. Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. Peter followed Jesus morning, day and night. Peter, in his following Jesus was able to confirm miracles performed by the word of God. Despite all that he saw in his following Him, he redirected his journey. Peter redirected his journey away from the Lord when the going became rough. There will be rough and tough challenges in the course of your journey. When the challenges are up do not go down but keep up in your following Him. At a point in time, Peter could not keep up, he kept distance; he looked for comfort in the warmth of the kindled fire; and he sat out among the crowd. Pray that God will keep you in your entire step with Him.

Knowing Him

Knowing Him

Dan.1:8-21, 11:32, Ex.3:6, Col.1:9-13

It is one thing to know God; it is another thing to know about God. Many people often claim to know God, but they only know about Him. When you claim to know Him, and all you do is know about Him, it becomes a misrepresentation of understanding. It does not matter how long you have been going to church, it does not count how many times you have read through the pages of the bible or your title in the church. Knowing God is having a personal relationship with God. Do you really know God? If you think you do, how much do you know about Him? When you know Him, He will mark you out in your generation and you will be distinct. DanielÕs knowledge of his God marked him out in his generation; it also marked him with carrying out great exploits. It all started for Daniel when he purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the kingÕs delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the Chief eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Dan.1:8).It is evident in the life of Daniel that, he was a strong man; through his knowledge of God he was able to carry out great exploits. Knowing God is not an act or demonstration of emotion that flows around different ground of worship. Take time out; there is no more time for religious parade but Jesus reality. Just like Paul prayed for the Colossians, pray to God that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Col.1:9). Desire to know Him and He will deposit in you His knowledge. Dan.11:32 those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.

Location

Location

Gen.19:1-13

The people of Sodom and Gomorah were consumed by sin. The people were living a life outside of GodÕs commandment. When it was time for their destruction, God sent his angels to go and destroy Sodom. Abraham knew that the angels were on mission to destroy Sodom where Lot, LotÕs wife, and children were dwelling. There was no way Abraham could have warned Lot to run out of Sodom at the time that he found out about GodÕs plan. Lot needed salvation from destruction because he was for the LORD. As a man of God, he needed to be at the right location so he can be delivered from destruction that was meant for the land. As a child of God, are you conscious of your location? Do you pay attention to who you are and where to be and not to be? In order to constantly avoid untimely and sudden destruction, there are some places where a committed child of God should not be found. Also, when agents of destruction are on the loose, there are some places where a child of God should be in order gain salvation from destruction. Lot was at the right location to receive his deliverance. Gen19:1 now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. Lot insisted strongly that they should come to his house. If it was only that evening that Lot had plan to be a part of the sin of Sodom, he would have missed out and not be on location for his salvation. Be conscious of your location as a child of God.

Consideration

Consideration

Psalm 41:1-3

Consideration will bring demonstration. Lately, have you considered any poor to be blessed by you? Whatever you have become today, it is the grace of God. The grace of God is a free gift from God. Freely you have received, freely you should give. When was the last time you had a meaningful consideration for a poor? Ps. 41:1 blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. V.2 the LORD will preserve him and keep alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver Him to the will of his enemies. Whaoo, what a promise? The fact is God has never fail; man has failed to do just as He requested in many pages of the scripture. Does this speak to you? If you have been giving to poor or needy ones without a considerable; conscious expectation from God, you will not get from Him the promise that backs up your obedience in His word. Reach out in your consideration; demonstrate to the poor by giving; and the LORD will not fail in doing what He promised to do. Go and give with good intention and God will respond to you with good attention. Ask God to give you the heart of giving that will glorify His name.
