Daily Devotional: The Word

Heb. 13:1-6

The Word

A godly life is the key and it settles all. When your conduct becomes free from covetousness; when you are contented in all areas of life, you are set for great exploits in life. God is the only one that can enable you; determination will deny you; your strength will fail; and nothing else can enable you. By living a godly life, the word will not deny your claim in GodÕs promise that says I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). The word of God has never fail and it will not fail. It is man that fails the word of God. You either have the word or the world. When you choose the word of God the word will work for you; great exploits will be yours and He will never leave you nor forsake you. When the world becomes your choice rather than the word of God, the word will not work for you. Ask God for the grace that will enable you to be constant and consistent in spending your time studying and doing what the word of God says.

Direction

Act 9:1-8

Direction

There was a light that shone on SaulÕs life on his way to Damascus. Among the things the light did was, sought him out from darkness and empty religion. With the light on him, he fell on the ground. An indication of submission that Saul was ready to listen to what the light has brought to him. As a result, heaven located him and a voice sounded in his direction. Saul heard a voice of correction, direction, connection and he became an agent for Jesus; a bondservant. Are you willing to submit? Until there is a submission in place, listening and hearing will always be a wasted effort. With the light on him and the voice in his direction no weapon formed could prosper against him. In his entire journey, darkness could not comprehend and he became a soldier for the Lord. Ask God that the same light that shone on Saul to shine on you. As you go in every step of your life darkness will not prevail. Also, ask for GodÕs voice to sound in your direction just as it sounded correction and direction unto Saul.

No Excuse

Gen. 3, 1Sam.13:1-14, 15:1-24

No excuse

Then the man said, ÒThe woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate itÓ (Gen.3:12). The greatest excuse before God was a very reasonable one and it failed. Excuses will never work for you before God if you fail to cue yourself in His divine arrangement for your life. Before God, there is no room for excuses to work. Anything that is short of obeying GodÕs command is a failure and God will not accept   disobedient. King Saul did a sacrifice that should not have been done by anyone except by a priest (as ordained by God). His excuse was based on the fact that the people scattered (1Sam.13:11). King Saul also failed to destroy the Amalek as God had requested of him. He failed to carry out GodÕs commandment consistently; the consequence was beyond his comprehension. He paid heavily because it denied his generation from becoming king again in Israel. Has the LORD given you an assignment to be carried out? Let it be known to you this day that, a failure to do what God asked of you or what His word required has no legitimate excuse but a sever consequence. God in His goodness and mercy will grant the grace for consistent obedience unto His word.

Seperation

Dec.06:05

Rm. 1:1

Separation

Until you are separated unto Jesus, you will never operate as a living sacrifice. Rm. 1:1 Paul a bondservant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle separated to the gospel of God. Have you been able to recognize that your salvation is not an accident? God has called you for a purpose and it is to be taken very serious. Just as Paul was called, so you have been called for a purpose. The issues in your life that are denying you a separated life unto God has to give way and you give in to a separated life unto God. Paul the apostle was a living sacrifice through out his calling. He was called from the pit of hell to the peak of the mountain. Ask God today for the grace that will separate you unto His calling. God is a faithful God. If you desire to serve faithfully, God will enable you.

Purpose

Dan.1:8-16

Purpose

What is your purpose in serving the LORD God almighty? Think for few seconds, come back and continueÉÉ.Now, one thing is to know your purpose; another is to purposely live to your purpose. Purpose is huge in this race of salvation. All that Daniel needed to excel, be distinct, and overcome every trouble of his walk in the LORD was, he purposed that the name of God be glorified. He would not have been able to purpose if he had not known his purpose of living. Dan.1:8 says, Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with a portion of the kingÕs delicacies, nor with wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not defile himself. Purpose (To resolve or settle) When you resolved in your heart; that is to settle for God to be glorified, God will set you up for great exploit. You shall run and not be weary; you shall walk and not be faint. Wherever a wild animal is consuming them, you will be commanding the wild animal to go to sleep. After he purposed for God, God brought Him into the favor and goodwill of the eunuchs (Dan.1:9). God will give you a heart to be purposeful for His name to be glorified and the favor of God will reign in your life.
