Daily Devotional: Expectation

Expectation

Lk. 17:11-19

Why are you looking back? Let your past be past. God does not reckon with back lookers. Instead of you looking back, turn to thank Him for all that He has done in your life. God awaits thanks giving in return. Jesus Christ, having healed ten lepers, one out of the ten turned back to meet Jesus.  Luke 17:17 Òso Jesus answered and said, Òwere there not ten cleansed but where are the other nine. JesusÕ reaction to the only leper that turned back to Him in thanksgiving was a clear indication that Jesus always expects a return in all that He gives out. Today acknowledge Him; give thanks for all He has done and all that he will do. Take time out of your various places that you have been looking back to and give to Him the sacrifice of praise.

Remember Him For Nov.23-05

Remember Him

Ps. 106:7

Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, But rebelled by the sea-the Red Sea (Ps. 106:7). Giving Him heartfelt thanks should not be narrowed to only a certain day or time of the year. Thanking God for who He is and what He is doing should be an everyday, every moment activity. It becomes possible for a believer to become constant and consistent giving thanks, when there is knowledge. That knowledge is rooted in understanding. The Psalmist says they did not understand. When understanding of who God is and what God can do is in place in the life of a believer, there will be knowledge of constant and consistent remembrance of giving thanks to God. Remember the multitude of His mercies so you can give Him thanks. The children of Israel did not remember the multitude of His mercies, but rebelled. To lack remembrance is an act of rebellion. Ask Him today to give you the grace to be consistent and constant in remembering the multitude of His mercies.

Daily Devotional: Orderliness

Orderliness

2Chro. 8:6, 2King20:1-6

God is a God of order. As a child of God, your everyday work has to be in order of the word of God. When orderliness fails in life, disorder will pass into life. Being in order and working for God is the only way to get to your expected end in the Lord. 2Chro.8:16 now all the work of Solomon was well-ordered from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed. The word says we are the temple of God. How are you being built? Is your building going in order? It has to be in order for there to be a completion. If orderliness fails to prevail in your building process, death will reign. Hezekiah, King of Judah once lived out of order. God visited him by sending prophet Isaiah to him, ÒThus says the LORD: set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live (2King.20:1). Hezekiah seeks God; puts himself in order. God gave him more years. Is there any area where you have been taken steps of disorder? Seek God and He will lead you back into order.

Just An Introduction

Just an Introduction

Ex.3:16-18, Psalm14:1

In there bondage of over400years, God sent Moses Ex.3:17 Òand I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and Amonites, Perizzites and the Hivities and the Jebusites to a land flowing with milk and honey.Ó God knew they were not just inside affliction, but they were also down in it. It is one thing to be Òinside afflictionÓ; it is another to be Òdown inside afflictionÓ. The children were inside and also down. Where are you at this point in time? Are you inside or inside and down in affliction? There is a way out for you this day in Jesus name. Pharaoh does not believe in the God of the Hebrews. Absolutely, the children of Israel were down and inside affliction. Ps. 14:1 says the fool has said in his heart that Òthere is no God.Ó Pharaoh needed an introduction of God so affliction will be lifted from the children of Israel In verse 18 of the same chapter, God told Moses to let Pharaoh know that Òthe LORD God of the Hebrews has sent Him so the people could go and sacrifice to Him. That is a way of letting someone that says there is no God know that there is God. Today, acknowledge God by activating your understanding about God. Introduce God to your affliction and it will flee forever. He alone is God of deliverance.

Hearing

Hearing

Psalm 119:130, Acts 10:44

Not doing what the word of God says is a result of a hearing disability. It is not possible to hear God and doubt Him. The problem you are having is: the word is not entering. Word passing through your ears is different from words entering into your ear.The Psalmist says in Ps. 119:130, the entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. The word of God can not enter while darkness still prevails. At every time you are in position to receive the word, ask God to open you up. Acts 10:44 says, while Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. Among many that are listening, only the ones that heard in their listening to Peter received the Holy Spirit. Some were hearing and they got it; while some must have missed it. Ask God to open you up to hear Him when you are reading; when you are listening to preachers of the word; and when you are in the place of gossiping gospel. Hearing indeed is what makes the difference. God help us.
