SELF-CONVENIENCE?

FAITH CAPSULE: Self-convenience in the place of commitment to God’s word will not claim God’s promise.

Numbers 32

In the journey of life, a lack of commitment to God’s word will deny one’s arrival and not claim the promise of God. One with a commitment to the word of God is giving self to walk before God without ceasing. With a commitment to the living word of God is taking the unfailing route in the journey of life.
Claiming to be a believer without commitment to the word of God is having a religion with no relationship with God.
Does that sound like you?
Are you committed to God’s word with an understanding of seeking God diligently?
What does it mean to seek God diligently?
One that seeks God diligently will walk, sit and stand in the word of God with commitment to the word of God to claim the blessings as the Bible records, “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law, he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2)
In the journey of life, are you obedient to God’s word?
The Israelites in their journey of life to God’s promise, they were disobedient, the evidence of lack of commitment to God’s word.
Among the Israelites, the children of Gad and the children of Reuben wanted to settle for the East side of Jordan against God’s word for them to cross the Jordan to established into God’s plan.
The choice of disobedient to God’s word by the children of Gad and children of Reuben was self-convenience with no commitment to God’s word.
Numbers 32:1-7 documents the disobedient of the children of Gad the children of Reuben, “Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock; and when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that indeed the region was a place for livestock, the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the leaders of the congregation, saying, “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Shebam, Nebo, and Beon, the country which the LORD defeated before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.” Therefore, they said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan.” And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: “Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here? Now, why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?”
God promised the land that flows with milk and honey, but the children of Gad and children of Reuben could not commit to God’s promise.
In the journey of life, replacing commitment to God’s word with self-convenience will not arrive at God’s promise.

Prayer for today: Ask God for you to be committed to His word.

ARE YOU?

FAITH CAPSULE: Are you compromising the word of God?

1 Samuel 2:1-36

Consciously or unconsciously do you compromise God’s command?
Before God, there is no legitimate excuse not to do according to His word.
To compromise God’s command will complicate a man’s journey of life.
Compromising God will violate man before God.
To compromise God’s command is an indication of a lack of fear for God, that opens the door for the devil. Proverbs 3:7 warns, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.”
To do as commanded by God is doing good that counts before God. One that knows to do good and not do is compromising God’s command as a sinner before God. (James 4:17)
With understanding, all man should know not to compromise God’s word to impress any man (inside or outside of church) and not to impress any family or friends.
The Bible records how Eli’s children compromised God’s word that counted against Eli’s failure not to have trained his children enough before God.
1 Samuel 2:12-15 records, “Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the LORD. And the priests’ custom with the people was that when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come with a three-pronged fleshhook in his hand while the meat was boiling. Then he would thrust it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; and the priest would take for himself all that the fleshhook brought up. So, they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there. Also, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed, “Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw.”
Sons of Eli does not know God when they actively engaged themselves in the sacrifices without restraint from Eli their father. Compromising the word of God by the sons of Eli was recorded as a great sin before God. Eli did not do enough to restrain the evil acts of his sons despite his position as Priest and father.
When God called on Samuel, at a young age, God identified to Samuel the sin and judgment of Eli stating, “In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them.” (1 Samuel 3:12-13) Eli’s failure not to act enough against the wrongdoing of his children counted against him and corrupted his destiny.
Come out of all the evil which you know about; refrain from being carried along with compromising God’s command or stand to correct compromising God’s command.
No man under heaven that compromises the word of God to arrive at God’s divine assignment in the journey of life.
Gain understanding and knowledge in the word of God to live life for the glory of God.

Prayer for today: Ask God for His hand over your life not to be a failure.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND

FAITH CAPSULE: Give self to gain understand and knowledge in the word of God.

Proverbs 2

You cannot get answers from what you do not know or understand. Also, one without knowledge and understanding will not recognize the answer when it arrives for the purpose to deliver.
Lack of knowledge and understanding is the root of failure in all areas of life. The challenge of not having knowledge and understanding is, listening disability. Jesus expresses in John 8:43, “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.” Listening disability denies understanding which makes no place for knowledge in man’s life.
Are you spending time on the word of God to gain understanding with knowledge in the journey of life?
When there is a lack of knowledge and understanding in the Word of God, failure in the walk of life becomes inevitable.
The Word of God is for every man to hear, receive, and believe to experience victory over the challenges of the wicked world.
Jesus is the wisdom, the Word of God, the instruction for all. 1 Corinthians 1:30 communicates to all, “But of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…”
The Word of God heals and delivers man from destruction (Psalms 107:20).
The Word of God gives life abundantly to one that will receive and believe in God’s word.
Unfortunately, many are without the ability to understand the Word due to worldly living and unending chores; some of which include:
· Being too busy, having no time to study the Word of God.
· Preferring to take care of the activities of this world before giving self to the things of God.
· Having a dislike for the word of God that is the truth to accept.
. Living a worldly life is taking the word of God as foolishness
Will you consider the Word of God as the evidence of His wonders?
It is important to understand and know that the Word of God is the key to retain the presence of God.
Once in God’s word with Moses, it becomes glaring that the word of God is the presence of God. (God’s way is in His Word; God’s Word is His presence. (Exodus 33:13-14)
Having an understanding and knowledge in the Word of God is also the source of God’s revelation for getting a clear and unfailing direction in the journey of life).
Will you come out of all that is keeping you away from the word of God, the wonder of God?
Gain understand and knowledge that God invests much into a man’s life and He deserves man’s attention to be living life by His word.
Give self to the word of God for instruction, direction to walk worthy to the glory of God.

Prayer for today: Ask from God to fill you with the knowledge and understanding of His word.

COMMIT TO CONNECT

FAITH CAPSULE: Commit to God to be connected with God.

Genesis 19

Commitment to the word of God is giving self to walk before God without ceasing.
With a commitment to the living word of God is taking the unfailing route in the journey of life.
Living life as a believer without commitment to the word of God is a religion with no relationship with God.
Does that sound like you?
Are you truthful to yourself living by the word of God?
Anyone with a commitment to God’s word is with an understanding of seeking God diligently.
One that seeks God diligently walks, sits and stands in the word of God, the evidence of commitment to God and to become blessed by God.
The word of God confirms, “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law, he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2)
As an acclaimed believer of God, let your commitment be rooted in God, not to be seeking the counsel of the ungodly.
In the journey of life, one that fails to give self to the promise of God is declining God’s word, the lack of commitment to God’s word.
In the journey of life, replacing commitment to God’s word with self-convince will not arrive at God’s promise.
Commitment is not convenient, but it is self-sacrifice before God.
One that compromises God’s word is with no commitment to God’s word.
Discipline works with commitment but doubting works against commitment.
With doubt, fear will relegate faith.
One with the lack of commitment to God’s word is not mindful of God.
Lack of commitment to God’s word will deny one’s arrival to God’s promise.
Lack of commitment to God’s word will lead to confusion in the journey of life.
Lack of commitment to God is looking away from God.
The word of God directed Lot and his wife for deliverance from destruction saying, “…Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.” (Genesis 19:17) Lot was committed to the word of God but his wife could not commit herself to the word of God for her deliverance from destruction. The consequence for Lot’s wife not to commit to God’s word records, “But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” (Genesis 19:26)
Are you sincerely committed to the word of God?
In the journey of life, be committed to God and remain connected to the promise of God.

Prayer for today: Ask from God to take charge of life He has given you.

WHAT TO STRIVE FOR?

FAITH CAPSULE: Strive for a good conscience before God.

Galatians 5

In the journey of life, having Good conscience is evident in one’s action.
God sees all actions, and the Bible mentions, “…For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him, actions are weighed.” (1 Samuel 2:3)
What is your conscience like before God?
What does it mean to have a good conscience before God in the journey of life?
Having a good conscience before God is living obediently before God as commanded for all to love.
1 John 4:8 says it all, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
Do you love God?
Do you love all?
Bible records, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:14)
Among the reasons for the commandment of God for all is to love from a GOOD CONSCIENCE. Word of God confirms, “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk.” (1Timothy 1:5-6)
Having a good conscience is having God in your conscience that will mark you for God in your journey of life. Among all of God’s will is the purpose of the commandment from a good conscience.
Do you have a good conscience in all your ways before God?
Having love from a good conscience comes with action and is not hidden from God.
Having good conscience is the sense of doing right but not doing wrong before God. It is a good conscience that governs one’s thoughts and actions.
Conscience is what convicts’ man to turn man from what is not right.
One with no conscience will live life in empty pride consciously or unconsciously, the evidence of no love as commanded by God.
Conscience is responsible for conviction in man’s life. The Pharisees are the example of the lack of good conscience when they approached Jesus for judgment over a woman caught in the act of adultery, but Jesus ignored the Pharisees’ request for judgment. (John 8:7) The need for good conscience by the Pharisees was evident in Jesus’ response, “Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one…” (John 8:9)
All should strive for good conscience and not become a victim of a lack of love before God.
Paul in his defense before Felix made it known in his statement that good conscience is to be strived for. Paul testifies, “This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” (Acts 24:16)
Think of it, if the Apostle Paul can identify the need to strive for good conscience before God, what is it that is denying you to strive for a good conscience before God?

Prayer for today: Ask God for His Spirit to be stirring you to strive for having a good conscience in life before Him.
