WHAT TO STRIVE FOR?

FAITH CAPSULE: Strive for a good conscience before God.

Galatians 5

In the journey of life, having Good conscience is evident in one’s action.
God sees all actions, and the Bible mentions, “…For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him, actions are weighed.” (1 Samuel 2:3)
What is your conscience like before God?
What does it mean to have a good conscience before God in the journey of life?
Having a good conscience before God is living obediently before God as commanded for all to love.
1 John 4:8 says it all, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
Do you love God?
Do you love all?
Bible records, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:14)
Among the reasons for the commandment of God for all is to love from a GOOD CONSCIENCE. Word of God confirms, “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk.” (1Timothy 1:5-6)
Having a good conscience is having God in your conscience that will mark you for God in your journey of life. Among all of God’s will is the purpose of the commandment from a good conscience.
Do you have a good conscience in all your ways before God?
Having love from a good conscience comes with action and is not hidden from God.
Having good conscience is the sense of doing right but not doing wrong before God. It is a good conscience that governs one’s thoughts and actions.
Conscience is what convicts’ man to turn man from what is not right.
One with no conscience will live life in empty pride consciously or unconsciously, the evidence of no love as commanded by God.
Conscience is responsible for conviction in man’s life. The Pharisees are the example of the lack of good conscience when they approached Jesus for judgment over a woman caught in the act of adultery, but Jesus ignored the Pharisees’ request for judgment. (John 8:7) The need for good conscience by the Pharisees was evident in Jesus’ response, “Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one…” (John 8:9)
All should strive for good conscience and not become a victim of a lack of love before God.
Paul in his defense before Felix made it known in his statement that good conscience is to be strived for. Paul testifies, “This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” (Acts 24:16)
Think of it, if the Apostle Paul can identify the need to strive for good conscience before God, what is it that is denying you to strive for a good conscience before God?

Prayer for today: Ask God for His Spirit to be stirring you to strive for having a good conscience in life before Him.

CONTINUITY BEFORE GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Seeking God continually demands continuity.

Daniel 6

Continuity can be described as, uninterrupted flow.
Continuity demands unceasing discipline to maintain focus on the right path of living life before God.
Through the pages of the Bible, those who continually focused on God excelled greatly to the glory of God. Continuity eschews inconvenience and answers with commitment meaning that those who continually seek God are committed with no excuse for the inconvenience in every area of seeking after God.
Continuity in the word of God will constantly connect one with God.
Those who give themselves up to serving the Lord God continually will have a place in the presence of God.
Search yourself to know if you trust and hope in God by keeping His word continually.
The Psalmist testifies, “But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.” (Psalm 71:14) “So shall I keep Your law continually, forever and ever.” (Psalm 119:44) Hosea 12:6 buttressed, “So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, and wait on your God continually.”
Act 6:4 also laid it down for believers of God’s word, “We are to give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Hebrews 13:15 encourages, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God.”
Continuity should be constant with consistent walking with God.
Daniel continually served God as his character when an unbeliever king recognized Daniel as one that serves the living God.
At the time of King Darius’ sentencing of Daniel to an untimely death in the den of lions, the king stated: “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” (Daniel 6:16) The Bible documented King Darius’ loss of sleep all night, waiting for morning to check on Daniel’s faith through his overnight time in the den of lions. King Darius reacted in the morning: “Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” (Daniel 6:19-20)
King Darius, an unbeliever of God, recognized in Daniel that those who give self to God continually shall not go wrong to become a victim of wicked agenda.
Just like Daniel, one that gives attention to God continually will gain deliverance and preservation attention of God unfailingly.
After Daniel’s all night among hungry lions, he responded to the king Darius’ calling as stated: “Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they have not hurt me because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” (Daniel 6:21-22)
Daniel’s continuity in serving God provoked heaven’s unfailing attention of deliverance and preservation over his life.
Serve God continually.

Prayer for today: Ask God to let you live life for His glory.

PROVOKE HIS MERCY

FAITH CAPSULE: Live life by His word to provoke His mercy over your life.

Genesis 39

The mercy of God is no man’s merit but the goodness of God.
God cannot be intimidated or manipulated by any of His creation for the release of His mercy.
God declared and was testified of in Romans 9:14-16, “…I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion. So, then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”
In this wicked world, understand and know to live life to attain the mercy of God as the Bible records His word.
As much as God alone can have mercy on who He will have mercy on, one that lives by His command is always in a position to provoke God’s mercy over one’s life undeniably.
AMONG WAYS OF PROVOKING GOD TO OBTAIN HIS MERCY ARE:
The mercy of God is attainable when the life of one aligns with the word of God
One that lives life according to the word of God will always receive the mercy of God. Joseph’s life was the evidence of one that lived according to the word of God, the will of God. Every time there was an incident that could tempt him to violate the word of God, he did not give himself to the temptation to fail before God (Genesis 39:7-15). In one instance, he denied the offer to sleep with his master’s wife by claiming, “…How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:9) Joseph’s reaction to his master’s wife provoked God’s mercy for Joseph. The Bible mentions, “But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor…” (Genesis 39:21).
The mercy of God is attainable when one loves God
One with the love for God will always provoke the mercy of God. The Bible makes us realize that loving God is keeping His commandments (John 14:15). To love God is to fear God.
The story of Joseph points out that Joseph kept God’s commandment by forbidding adultery when he fled away from sleeping with his master’s wife. Joseph loved God to obtain the mercy of God.
The mercy of God is obtainable according to what is sown
It is a wise saying that, “whatever a man sow is what a man will reap”
For example, as close as banana and plantain look alike, it is not possible to sow banana and reap plantain or to sow orange and reap tangerine as look-alike they appear.
What are you sowing to reap?
Hosea 10:12 buttressed the word of God, “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy.”
Become one merciful to experience God’s mercy just as the word of God speaks to all, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew 5:7)
Be merciful to attain God’s mercy over your life.
Give self to God’s word, to gain His presence.

Prayer for today: Ask Him to enable you to live life by His word.

DECEPTION ACTIVITY

FAITH CAPSULE: Are you a fake believer with deception as a character?

2 Kings 5

Are you getting away with lying or you are have perfected in deceiving others?
Lying and deceiving is the route to destroy a liar.
Acts 5:1-2 records, “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” It was not mentioned that Ananias and Sapphira were forced to sell their possessions. Possibly, Ananias and Sapphira voluntarily agreed to sell their possessions.
Why is it that Ananias and Sapphira lied?
Are you a fake believer with deception as a character?
In life, every conduct of man is not hidden from God but accountable before God.
Peter knew that Ananias and Sapphira were faking to deceive all. The Bible records, “But Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?’” (Acts 5:4)
In life, what is worth doing for the Lord is worth doing truthfully in truth. Both, Ananias and his wife, might have engaged good intentions but lying as their identity denied and set them away from the presence of God.
Acts 5:5 states, “Then Ananias hearing these words fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.” Lying and deception took the life of Ananias and Sapphira.
Just like Ananias and Saphira, it was lying and deception that terminated Gehazi from living life to answer the calling of his life.
After the healing of Naaman, Elisha refused to accept gifts from Naaman. Without any direction from Elisha, Gehazi the servant of Elisha deceitfully went after Naaman and said, “My master sent me to say, ‘Two young men from the company of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’” (2 Kings 5:22)
Without the knowing or permission by Elisha, Gehazi deceitfully received the gift from Naaman, and it was against Elisha’s will.
After Elisha knew about Gehazi’s deception activity, he approached Gehazi but Gehazi lied. Elisha responded to Gehazi’s deception stating, “…was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes—or olive groves and vineyards, or flocks and herds, or male and female slaves? Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and his skin was leprous—it had become as white as snow.” (2 Kings 5:26-27
If your lying and deceiving go unnoticed for years, it will only take one day for the truth to expose you as a liar.

Prayer for today: Pray against the spirit of deception in your life.

QUOTES ON MY MIND!

FAITH CAPSULE: Some words on my mind as it is.

Jeremiah 12

THE WORD OF GOD IS A MIRROR
Just as you behold yourself in the mirror to dress or re-address yourself in your going out and coming in, begin to behold yourself in the word of God as a MIRROR, to address you with direction, to be walking, sitting and standing in God’s word.
Beholding yourself in the word of God as a mirror will provoke the blessings of God upon your life.
Psalm 1:1 buttress, “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”
The word of God is like a mirror to behold continually!
ARE YOU A WICKED ONE?
Many are conversant with the word of God by quoting the word of God but far and not connected with God.
Does that sound like you?
Many are coming up with stories claiming about God, not know God but only know about God.
Does that speak about you?
Many are with the word of God in the head but with no word of God in the heart.
That sounds like the wicked one.
Jeremiah’s word before God in Jeremiah 12:1-2 identifies wicked, “Righteous are You, O Lord when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously? You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.”
Are you the wicked one?
Search your heart by giving yourself to David’s Psalm 139:23, ask God, “Search me, O God, and know my heart…”
Come out of self-deception!
THE UNBELIEVING BELIEVERS
Who are you?
The word of God that is true is irrelevant and not count to unbelieving believers. John 8:31-32 counsels, “…If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Unbelieving believers abide in the WORLD, not abiding in God’s WORD.
You are exposed to the world, thinking you are FREE but not FREE. The identity of unbelieving believers is lies, deception, and manipulation.
Who are you?
Unbelieving believers should know that God is not asleep!
LIVE LIFE FOR GOD TO CLAIM HIS PROMISE
To claim the blessings of God is living life by God’s conditions.
Abram, a friend of God, had no exception from living by God’s condition before claiming the promise of God. Genesis 17:1-2 records, “…the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
Are you walking in the WORLD, deceiving yourself to be walking in the word?
God cannot be deceived!

Prayer for today: Ask from God to live life for His glory.
