WHOLLY FOLLOW HIS WORD

FAITH CAPSULE: Be steadfast to follow the word of God.

Luke 5

Giving self to steadfast in the things of God is not a self-satisfying engagement.
In this wicked world, one that is self-full cannot be possibly steadfast for God.
King David realized the importance and the need for one to be steadfast when he called on God in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
Are you steadfast in your work for God?
Caleb and Joshua in their walk before God was steadfast, they wholly follow God.
Caleb and Joshua’s steadfastness before God was the reason not to align with their brethren’s negative confession against the promise of God over their life. God’s promise for the Israelites was to bring them all to the Promised Land with milk and honey.
The Israelites’ negative confession was against the promise of God, the lack of steadfastness before God.
Caleb and Joshua’s steadfastness before God was their positive confession that prompted God’s response, “My servant Caleb because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.” (Numbers 14:24) Without a doubt, ones that follow the commanding word of God wholly follow God fully.
Elisha followed God wholly the evidence of his steadfastness before God.
At the time of God’s calling of Elisha through Elijah, 1 Kings 19:20-21 records Elisha’s steadfastness,“…He left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, ‘Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.’ And he said to him, ‘Go back again, for what have I done to you?’ So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.”
Elisha was steadfast before God, he left all behind to empty materials in his life, not to become a victim of the distraction of God’s calling over his life.
One that cannot give self to God’s calling will not forgive himself or herself for not to become counted for the blessings to the glory of God.
Be steadfast to follow the word of God.
Jesus was passing by when He “…saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, ‘Follow Me.’ So he left all, rose up, and followed Him. Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.” (Luke 5:27-29) Levi gave up all his possession to follow Jesus.
The Lord God is calling you!
Come out of self-satisfying to become steadfast before God.
God’s word is faithful to enable you in all your endeavors.

Prayer for today: Ask to wholly follow God all the days of your life.

THANKSGIVING BEFORE GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Are you giving thanks to God with understanding?

Luke 17

Thanksgiving is an appreciation of God’s doing in one’s life.
Thanksgiving to God should not be limited to uttering words but living life, pleasing God for His goodness.
Giving thanks to God is not an act of thinking thanks but should be thanksgiving to God from one with mindful of God.
Thanksgiving with praising God is worshiping God.
Worshiping God is seeking God.
Giving thanks to God or praising God must be with understanding.
Psalm 47:7 admonishes all, “For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.”
With thanksgiving and praising God, worship God with the understanding that is reasonable and acceptable before God.
The Bible records how thanksgiving is the way to move forward and not become a victim of the wickedness of this world.
For example, Daniel, with his thanksgiving before God he escaped and not died by the evil agenda of wicked ones that placed him in the den of Lions. Daniel 6:10 records, “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Daniel gave thanks to God to escape from the evil agenda over his life.
Thanksgiving before God gave Jonah an escape from sudden death. Jonah disobeyed God to ended in the belly of fish. The Bible records Jonah’s testimony, “But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.” (Jonah 2:9) Jonah’s thanksgiving before God was his deliverance.
Are you giving thanks to God with understanding?
Thanksgiving before God demands consistency.
Giving thanks to God for all things will make all things work together for good, to the glory of God.
God that is jealous expects all to be giving thanks before Him.
Once, when Jesus healed ten lepers, only one returned to give thanks to Jesus for his healing. The response of Jesus to the only one testifies to the truth that God waits for all’s return for thanksgiving. The word records, “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:15-19)
Are you with the understanding of knowing to be returning to God for thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving before God should be rooted in the mind of man but not just in the head.

Prayer for today: Ask from God to fill you with understanding to live life for His glory.

DO NOT BE ONE OF SO MANY

FAITH CAPSULE: There is no substitute for obeying the word of God.

Philippians 4

The only way to obey the word of God is to be giving self to be hearing and doing the word of God.
So many hear the word but many are not able to listen and do the word of God.
So many quotes the word of God but not carry the word in the heart but on the head.
So many congregate in the name of God to hear the word but not to do the word of God.
So many hear the word of God but too occupied by the world, with no room to carry the word of God.
Are you a hearer of the word of God that constantly does the word of God?
The word of God admonishes, “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9)
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror.” (James 1:22-23)
A disobedient to the word of God is like a car speeding in the dark with its headlights turned off. It will only take one moment for such disobedient to experience the consequence of painful consequences. How long would a driver continue to drive in the dark without the headlights on?
Are you hearing God’s word ignorantly?
Give self to the word of God to experience His unfailing direction.
Giving self to the word of God is giving God attention.
God is a jealous God who desires constant attention from His creation, Exodus 34:14, “For you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
Giving attention to God in His word is the evidence to hear and do His word, and to draw one to God as His. In the journey of life, without obedience in place, walking with the Lord shall not be possible.

Respond of Jesus to not walking in His word records, “Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You. But He answered and said to them, My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” (Luke 8:19-21)
Do you desire to see Him when you look for Him just as His mother and brothers went to look for Him?
Are you one that is ignoring the word of God?
There is a need to look for Him by calling on Him and making way to Him through consistent obedience to His word.
There is no substitute for obeying the word of God.
Every believer needs to observe the word of God by hearing and doing the word of God.

Prayer for today: Ask from God, by confessing your desire to live by His word for your deliverance and preservation.

GOD’S HONOR IS UPON YOU

FAITH CAPSULE: God made man wonderful with honor.

Psalm 8, 103

Are you one with God’s honor upon your life and not know?
Without understand and knowledge, one will live life as with no honor and be reduce as an ordinary one.
Lion’s understanding and knowledge as an animal with honor, like a King in the jungle, will not give up and be reduced to join a goat to be feeding on grass in time of lack as goat feeds on grass.
With understanding, get to know that you are with honor, by God’s doing.
God is a perfect God.
God is a wonderful God in the creation of His hand.
God made man wonderful with honor.
When a man lacks knowledge, and understanding of God’s wonder, a man undoubtedly set to perish. The Psalmist said, “A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish.” (Psalm 49:20) The one who knows and understands the wonder of God in His creation of man will know what it means to be an honor.
The Psalmist testified to the glory of God in His creation of man by stating: “God is mindful of man; man is the one that God pays a visit to; man is made a little lower than the angels; man is crowned with glory and honor.” (Psalm 8:4-5) The Psalmist further stated: “God made man to have dominion over the works of His hands; all things were made to be under the feet of man.” (Psalm 8:6-7) Consider that all God has done and invested into a man, demands a man to agree that God made all to be His wonderful creation. God, having bestowed so much upon every single man is not wrong to have so much expectation from all His creation to obey His words of command.
Just as if all God has done for man is not enough, He went further to put several daily benefits for a man in place. King David testified to God’s daily benefits, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” (Psalm 68:19) King David agreed that blessing the name of God should be rooted in understanding and not just by mouth. David went further in Psalm 103 to identify the daily benefits of God for man: “He forgives all our iniquities; heal our diseases; redeems life from destruction; crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies and satisfy our mouth with good things.” (Psalm 103:1-5) The daily benefits are evident in our life daily if there are knowledge and understanding to appreciate God as we live before Him.
The point here is that all need to understand and know that in the Word of God, a man is wonderfully made and daily loaded with benefits. Whenever you are praising and blessing His Holy name, let it be rooted in understanding.
Understand and know that creates you with honor.

Prayer for today: Ask that the word of God be activated for you to live life for God’s glory.

ATTENTION!

FAITH CAPSULE: There is no substitute for obeying the word of God.

Matthew 7:24-29, James 1:21-27

The only way to obey the word of God is by giving self to hearing and doing the word of God.
So many hear the word but almost none are doing the word of God.
So many quotes the word of God but not carry the word in the heart but on the head.
So many congregate in the name of God to hear the word but not to do the word of God.
Are you a hearer of the word of God that constantly does the word?
The word of God stated as regard to hearing and doing the word, “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9)
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror.” (James 1:22-23)
A believer who is constantly disobedient to the word of God is like a car speeding in the dark with its headlights turned off.
Does that sound like you?
It will only take one moment for the driver to have his life set up for evil occurrences.
How long would a driver continue to drive in the dark without the headlights on? Such that continues driving wrong is not giving attention to the word of God which is the light to navigate safely in this wicked world.
God is a merciful and jealous God who desires constant attention from His creation, Exodus 34:14, “For you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” To gain the attention of a jealous God requires sincere and consistent obedience before His holy name. It does not matter who you are in the Lord, neither does it matter what role you play in the Kingdom of God’s business, If obedience is not in place, walking with the Lord shall not be possible.
Jesus’ mother and brothers received a warning that could have denied them their access to Him, “Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You. But He answered and said to them, My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”(Luke 8:19-21) Do you desire to see Him when you look for Him just as His mother and brothers went to look for Him, or do you want to continue to ignore Him?
There is a need to look for Him by calling on Him and making way to Him through consistent obedience to His word.
There is no substitute for obeying the word of God.
Every believer needs to observe the word of God by hearing and doing the word of God.

Prayer for today: Ask in your prayer to become a hearer and be a doer of the word of God.
