TO DEPART FROM GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: A disobedience to the word of God is to depart from Him.

Jonah 1

Manifestly, fleeing from the presence of God is to be presentable for the adversary of man.
Jonah failed before God when he walked against the command of God.
Disobedience to God is making a choice that is the opposite of living life for God.
A failure is self-created for self-destruction.
A failure to obey is without exception.
A failure to obey does have consequences.
Jonah, a prophet in the hand of God, failed to obey the word of God and experienced the consequence before God.
Without doubt, the word of God is God.
Hearing and listening to the word of God is to obey the word of God, to assess the presence of God.
The Bible records in Jonah 1:1, “Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.”
God called on Jonah, but he failed to answer the calling.
The disobedience of Jonah to the word of God was a departure from the presence of God.
Departure from the presence of God will lead to destruction.
The departure of Jonah states,“…Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” (Jonah 1:3)
Manifestly, fleeing from the presence of God is to be presentable for the adversary of the sinner.
The disobedience of Jonah became part of the vehicle of transportation.
Who is in your company?
Are you riding with sinners before God?
It can be dangerous to engage sinners before God.
The disobedience of Jonah set the passengers up for destruction.
Jonah was the result of the trouble during the storm.
Despite disobedience, Jonah claimed in Jonah 1:9, “So he said to them, “I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”
To know God and not obey is no excuse for the consequences.
Jonah was heading in the direction of self-destruction.
God is the only creator of man, the commander with the expectation of obedience before Him.
God expects all to be obedient always to His command.
Before God, there is no excuse for disobedience but consequences. Before God, there is hope for one who gives self to repentance before God.
Are you a present-day Jonah?
Are you a conscious obedience or disobedience of the word of God? Disobeying builds for disobedience to the word of God.
Do not take a position of self-destruction.
Obeying the living word of God is walking on a ground that does not fail or falter for the obedient children of God.
In the journey of life, obey the word of God to avoid self-destruction.
Do not be a victim of disobedience.

Prayer for today: Ask God for the strength that enables your obedience to His command continually.

IN ALL YOUR WAYS

FAITH CAPSULE: Sincerely, knowingly wait on God in all your ways of living life.

James 3

One who knows God will live life by the word of God.
To know God is waiting and not to tolerate negative communication.
God acts with answers.
Know that waiting on God is worshiping God; worshiping God is seeking a jealous God. Exodus 34:14 states, “For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
All are to seek God in His way, the character of one who knows God.
God alone sees all ways the Bible states, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to showHimself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9)
Conscious or unconscious ways of man in life are to wait on God.
Consciously or unconsciously, communicating or confessing positive or negative does not escape the attention of God.
Word of God warns, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
The Word of God is not a waste; it demands that the tongue be in control.
Are you taking control of your mouth to avoid confessing negative thoughts that can destroy?
Claiming to be religious but not controlling the tongue from negative confession is a reckless way of life.
Word of God warned in James 1:26,If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.” James 3:8 also warned, “But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
Know God not to be a victim to perish.
Know God to adopt waiting on God.
God is a merciful God who waits to act for those who wait on Him.
Isaiah 30:18 testifies about God that is waiting, “Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
Isaiah 64:4 also buttresses, “For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.” Without doubt, God truly waits to act for His children that wait on Him.
Do you know God, to know Him in waiting on Him?
Do you sincerely, knowingly wait on God in all your ways of living life?
God does not sleep nor slumber; He is always waiting faithfully to act for His children who will sincerely wait for His action.
Every way of living life is waiting on God. In the ways of life, regardless of situation, it is worth being aware of positive confession instead of negative confession before God.

Payer for today: Pray not to live life outside of the knowledge of God.

IN EVERY DECISION

FAITH CAPSULE: In every decision for direction, seek God for your direction

1 Samuel 23

Constantly, consistently, seek God for His specific direction for the journey of life.
Taking direction from God, being directed is the right way in life.
Knowing God as a God who does not fail is understanding God in His move.
David knows how to move in the direction of God.
Do you know?
Know God and not fear in the way before you.
Psalm 23:4 records the testimony of David, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me?
Know God not to walk where to run, and not to run where to walk.
Knowing God to gain deliverance from His direction is equal to becoming victorious over the enemy.
David did not undermine the direction to gain victory where there was no way.
At the time of going to fight the Philistines, his army was afraid to go with David.
David responded to the fear of his army by asking for direction from God.
1 Samuel 23:4 records, “The Lord answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
In the place of the support of man rooted in fear, the direction of God could not fail but answered with victory for David over the enemy.
David saved the city of Keilah from the Philistines when he sought God for direction. In every decision for direction, seek God for your direction, and seek the face of God.
It is wise and worthy to seek God in all endeavors.
Matthew 6:33 admonishes all, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
God will reveal unfailing direction.
In His truth, there is most definite freedom for anyone who seeks Him.
For the direction of God, watch and pray before God.
Isaiah 30:21 states, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
Today, seek God for His specific direction for your life.
Following a man for direction is not enough, but only in the direction of God.
Will you commit every step of your direction to God only?
God does not fail but is a faithful God to direct right.
Will you consider all that God has in place for your deliverance in your life journey?
The direction of God is all around one who seeks Him.
Are you ignorant that leads to destruction?
One with no direction will experience destruction.
It is not right to disregard asking for directions, but it is destructive.
Proverbs 14:12 warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

Prayer for today: Ask God that whenever you turn left or right, His direction shall take charge over you.

KNOW GOD TO FEAR HIM

FAITH CAPSULE: Eve could not obey God, as a result, evil pursued her.

Romans 3

It is not possible to fear God for one who does not know God.
Strive to know God to avoid a life of sin.
Obedience to the word of God is knowing God and having the fear of God over the life of obedience.
Know God to obey the word of God.
It is disobedience not to do the word of God.
Disobedience to God comes with consequences that can be painful.
Disobedience is a route of sin and a ground for evil to pursue the sinner. Proverb 13:21 buttressed, “Evil pursues sinners…”
Are you listening to the word of God to obey exactly and attend to God so as not to become a victim of the evil one?
Eve could not obey God, as a result, evil pursued her.
Eve could not escape the route of sin when she let her door open to the evil one.
Eve sinned when she lied by adding to the word of God. God gave His command to man, “…Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”(Genesis 2:16-17)
When the evil one approached Eve about eating from every tree, Eve responded, “…we may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘you shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”(Genesis 3:2-3)
God did not say “nor shall you touch it.”
Eve added to the Word of God.
Adding to what God did not say is telling a lie, and all that it does is give liberty to be pursued by the evil one.
Perceptibly, Eve did not know the word of God enough, but added to the word of God.
With God, there is no excuse for sin but only repentance or face judgment from God.
Are you adding lies to your testimony with the mind of glorifying God, not knowing it is sin?
It is a sin to tell lies.
Disregard the attempt to add lies to your testimonies to glorify God for what He does not do.
Romans 3:7 warns, “For if the truth of God has increased through my lie to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?”
Fear God, not the world.
Without the fear of God, one shall be vulnerable to walking into the path of temptation.
A failure to ward off temptation is to accommodate sin.
In this wicked world, taking the word of God earnestly will result in taking God seriously.
Be serious in the word of God, and the fear of God shall be a garment for deliverance and preservation.
Fear God and live life to the glory of God.

Prayer for today: Ask God to put His fear in your heart so that you will not depart from Him.

COMMUNICATE WITH GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Prayer is a personal communication with God.

Daniel 6, Luke 22:39-53

Prayer is the master key. Consider your prayer session to avoid praying amiss.
How is your prayer life?
In this wicked world, prayer is all it takes to gain deliverance from temptation.
When disciples of Jesus followed Him to the Mount of Olives, He told them, “…Pray that you may not enter into temptation…” (Luke 22:40)
Prayer is a master key to shutting out temptation and denying evil to gain entrance.
Prayer is a master key that shuts and opens.
Praying can demand strength to pray and to gain entrance to receive from God.
Prayer is not a fun fair; it is laboring before God.
The prayer time of Jesus in the garden demonstrates that prayer is a laborious assignment.
His prayer demonstrates, “And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” (Luke 22:44)
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, demonstrated to all that understanding and knowing prayer is to sail through in this wicked world.
Are you counting on someone to be praying for you?
Recognize that prayer of labor demands your personal prayer engagement more than relying on someone to pray on your behalf.
When Daniel realized the writing against him in judgment, the Bible records his reaction, “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt on his knees three times that day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.” (Daniel 6:10-11)
Daniel did not count on prayer from someone, but engaged in prayer time.
The master key, the prayer of Daniel, shut down the judgment set against him while in the den of the lion.
The mouth lions that were supposed to devour Daniel could not touch Daniel, and he came out unscathed. (Daniel 6:19-22)
The prayer of Jesus on Mount Olives was in agony.
Also, He was in labour and engaged earnestly.Earnest prayer is a serious, intended prayer; a purposeful prayer engagement; and a sincere prayer that is zealous.
Jesus on Mount Olives was in labor, as He sweated like drops of blood.
Is your prayer labor or casual?
Claiming Jesus is not by mouth but to be living like Jesus.
Prayer is a must.
Prayer can be loud or quiet.
Prayer is a personal communication with God.
Prayer is not a demonstration of pleasing man; prayer is not to be arousing empty emotion. Seek God laboriously; engage prayer as the master key.
Believe that God will act for the one who waits for Him.
Prayer is the master key.
Consider your prayer session to avoid praying amiss.

Prayer for today: Ask that the strength of praying on the altar shall not cease.
