BE HUMBLE

FAITH CAPSULE: Humility cures worldliness.

Deuteronomy 8

One that humbles self before God is positioning self for God’s blessing. James 4:10 buttressed, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
Do you know what it means to humble self before God?
First, if you are a hindrance or acting as an agent, hindering any man to serve God, you are one that does not humble God and will not experience the blessing of God. Pharaoh the king of Egypt was a hindrance and he denied the Israelites from serving God. The bible recorded, “So Moses and Aaron came into Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” Pharaoh repeatedly denied the Israelites from serving God to experience curse situation but not the blessing of God.
Second, admitting your wrongdoing before God is confessing your iniquity and it will cause God to remember you, to visit you with His promises that is good. The word of Leviticus 26:40-42 for the Israelites speaks to all it is what it means to be humble and be blessed by God, “But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me, and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt— 42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land.”
Thirdly, the word of God identified Moses, “Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.” (Numbers 12:3) What prompted Moses’ identification as humble could not be more than being a man with content. Exodus 2:21 reported Moses’ content: “Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.” With no doubt, to be humble must be rooted in content. Any man with content is satisfied regardless of a downgrade position in the way of life. The challenge of Moses made him flee from the Palace of Pharaoh in Egypt to Midian. Moses’ content spirit humbled him to be available for God’s calling over his life. What a blessing to live in God’s divine assignment? Moses was content, he was humble and was blessed.
Fourthly, do not be discouraged or withdraw yourself before God because of your challenges. Are you experiencing troubling challenges? Deuteronomy 8:2, “And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” Challenges can be training for a man, to become humble before God and be blessed by God.

Prayer for today: Ask God to visit you and give you a heart to be humble for His glory.

BREAKTHROUGH JOURNEY

FAITH CAPSULE: Are you on course for your breakthrough journey?

Numbers 11

The Israelites failed to disengage multitude as they engaged their breakthrough journey. Exodus 12:37-38 records: “Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. A mixed multitude went up with them…”   For the Israelites, a mixed-up multitude is an unholy mix-up. At the time of departure, it does not seem dangerous for the Israelites to have a mixed multitude among them on their breakthrough journey. As they progressed on the journey, the effect of mixed multitude caused trouble for the Israelites. The Bible records in Numbers 11:4-6, “Now the mixed multitudes who were among them yielded to intense craving; so, the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”  Mixed multitude’s trouble for the Israelites was the initiation of Israelites complaining before God. The multitude was like an agent of trouble in the journey of Israelites. God responded to the complaint of Israelites as stated: “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me.  Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:  The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.  Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.” (Numbers 14:27-30)
Interestingly, in the breakthrough of Israelites, Pharaoh and his chariots could not deny the Israelites’ breakthrough, the Red Sea could not hold back the Israelites from breaking forth. However, mixed multitude set them up for their journey termination. Are you on course for your breakthrough journey? Is there any mixed multitude with you as your company?
Here are some warning signals that you have allowed mixed multitude on your journey:
Mix-multitude will keep reminding you of the past when you need to focus on where the Lord is taking you.
Mix-multitude will only cause you to crave for what you do not need so you will cave into complaining instead of complimenting God.
Mix-multitude will cause one to worry in the place of worship.
Mix-multitude will direct one’s focus on world activity instead of focusing on God.

Prayer for today: Ask God to deliver you from all that represents mixed multitude in your journey of life.

UNFAILING TYPE OF PRAYER

FAITH CAPSULE: Unfailing consistent prayer quietly or loudly is loud crying before God.

John 11:1-44

Let your crying be rooted in understanding that you are crying to God, not to a man. To be crying out loud or crying inside quietly is not hidden before God. With understanding, know to cry to God alone. One with a schedule of prayer without failure, before God, is the evidence of crying out loud to God alone. Unfailing consistent prayer quietly or loudly is loud crying before God. With no doubt, crying out will always get the attention of God that is not deaf. The question in the word of Psalm 94:9 points out the truth that God hears as stated: “He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?”
In your challenges, are you crying out to God or crying out to a man?
In your crying to God be encouraged by the word in Psalm 18:6, “In my distress, I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears.”
One praying consistently to God is crying out for God’s attention which is not silent for His attention to His children. Psalm 39:12 buttressed, “Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.” Is your crying consistent and loud enough to get heaven’s attention? Are you too quiet not to be victorious?
The word encourages all to open our mouth loud. Psalm 81:10 stated: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.”  Crying out loud is not evidence of weakness it is a demonstration of trust and hope with the understanding in God’s word that God attends to His children.
King David’s understanding in the word of God is the mark of crying out to God with consistently not to fail for God’s attention Psalm 55:16-17 buttressed, “As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.”  The testimony of David is the evidence of his reason to get heaven’s attention. Praying which is calling out to God all day will get heaven’s attention. Is it your custom to be calling on God in the evening hour, morning hour and noon? Those who make calls on God as their way of life does so regardless of their challenge. Does that sound like you?
To cry out when the need calls for will provoke heaven on behalf of those with understanding to be praying, crying out to God.
Do not be quiet in your seeking God.

Prayer for today: Ask for the strength to be seeking Him more than ever before.

ANOTHER HOUR OF MIRACLE

FAITH CAPSULE: At obedience of God’s word expect your midnight miracle.

Exodus 12

Midnight is an hour of taking the battle to the front of the enemy. The midnight hour is an hour of great deliverance when uncommon miracle by the outstretched hand of God is manifested. When God promised deliverance for the Israelites out of the bondage of over four hundred years, He told Moses, “But I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty hand. So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst, and after that, he will let you go.” (Exodus 3:19-20) Indeed and in truth, the outstretch hand of God moved, “And it came to pass at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.  So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.” (Exodus 12:29-30) Through the pages of the Bible, there is no other wonder such as God’s outstretched hand against Pharaoh and his people at a midnight hour. Is there any area where you are experiencing bondage or stagnation?
Pharaoh reacted to the move of God’s outstretched hand of the midnight hour, “Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go; serve the LORD as you have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.” (Exodus 12:31-32) In addition to the Israelites freedom from the bondage at the midnight hour, by the outstretched hand of God, they were also rewarded for their years of slave work. It is written, “And the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.” (Exodus 12:36) At your midnight hour, deliverance will answer at full scale. God will cause you to plunder your enemy by virtue of recovering all that has been stolen from you.
The key to the move of God’s outstretched hand on behalf of the Israelites was their obedience to God’s command through Moses. The word testifies, “Then the children of Israel went away and did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.” (Exodus 12:28) Is there any act of obedience to be engaged before experiencing your midnight miracle of the outstretched hand of God? Obedience to God’s command is key to the manifestation of the midnight outstretches hand of God miracle.

Prayer for today: Ask God for your all-round deliverance.

DO AS COMMANDED BY HIS WORD

FAITH CAPSULE: Commands in the word of God is doable and it is not impossible to do.

Hosea 4

Listen to Hosea 4:6 as recorded, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
One that is lack is the evidence of one that is not full.
It is how you are full of knowing God that will determine how far you walk with God or walk before God to avoid and not to become a victim of this wicked world.
To be lack of knowledge is to be set for self-destruction as identified in Hosea 4:6.
To have knowledge is to have an understanding. Having understanding is rooted in listening ability in the word of God. Do you listen to God’s word constantly or casually?
Jesus asked and gave the answer why there is a listening disability: “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.” (John 8: 43) Having understanding is a need to be full and not lack knowledge. In any man’s life, with no UNDERSTANDING is the disability to LISTEN to the WORD of GOD that is written. With no UNDERSTANDING man cannot believe God to do according to His word and become free from self-destruction. By listening to God’s word is to gain understanding and to BE-LIVING by God’s word which is the direction to be having KNOWLEDGE over this wicked world.
Every command in the word of God is doable and it is not impossible to do has requested by God. With understanding in the word of God is to be having a knowing edge over wicked agendas and not to be a victim. There is no choice that is better than having the choice of listening, gaining understanding in the word of God to become full of knowledge and not become a victim of the wicked world.
In the Bible, Jesus repeatedly gave us do-able directions for self-deliverance saying: “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.” (Mark 13:33)
“Watch, therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)
Just like Jesus said, Paul, the Apostle also called for the importance of prayer:
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saint.” (Ephesians 6:18)
The book of 1 Peter 4:7 also recorded, “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore, be serious and watchful in your prayers.”
How is your prayer life? Are you one that is serious about prayer? Jesus demonstrated the need for prayer life for all man and Paul admonished the need for prayer as stated in
Acts 6:4, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Prayer for today: Ask God to fill you with understanding in the knowledge of His word.
