GO IN HIS WAY!

FAITH CAPSULE: His way is His word which is power for healing and deliverance.

John 4:46-54

It is written, “So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.  When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.” (John 4:46-47) The certain note-able (noble) man in the city, among his people heard about Jesus and went to Jesus.
Are you one that has heard about Jesus without your response to Jesus?
Many times you have heard of Him, but you never went to Him. If you will come in contact with the testimony that Jesus is Lord and the word of His mouth is power, healing deliverance and preservation shall be your portion. What is holding you back from coming to Him? Is it your distance that is denying your coming to Him?
Once, while Jesus was passing a certain village ten lepers who stood afar off did not allow distance to deny their healing and deliverance. The Bible states it that they lifted up their voices and said, Master, have mercy on us! (Luke 7:12-13) Why are you holding back your healing and deliverance from coming to Jesus? The lepers denied distance and received their healing and deliverance when the healing word of Jesus answered in their direction.
The nobleman’s son was dying when he came to Jesus. It is written, “The nobleman said to Him, ‘Sir, come down before my child dies!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way; your son lives.’ So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. (John 4:49-50)” Do you believe in the power of His word? The same power that answered for the nobleman is still available answering for those who deny distance to approach Jesus for their healing and deliverance. As the nobleman received direction from God to go on his way, he believed and went without question or doubt. If you will believe and go on your way, the same Word that is still alive today will locate you for breakthrough. The noble man went on his way as directed by Jesus, “And as he was going down, his servants met him and told him saying, ‘Your son lives!’” (John 4:51) If you have believed in His Word you will receive your breakthrough news in Jesus’ name. Today, in all area of life, make encountering Jesus your priority and engage His healing word of direction.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace that His word will answer in your life to the glory of God.

HAVE HOPE TODAY!

FAITH CAPSULE: Obedience in the place of hopelessness is an act of faith.

Luke 5:1-11

Four seasoned professional fishermen toiled all night with no fish to show for it. For the four professional fishermen, fishing was done for the day as they set up for the day by washing of empty fishing nets. As the four fishermen were able to move away from the sea to their various destination with no fish to show for after an all-night toiling, Jesus showed up to them. Jesus said called the fishermen back to fishing at the same location where they toiled all night with no result. Jesus said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” (Luke 5:4)
Are you experiencing a long lack of no result in any area of life? Is it your job that is experiencing stagnation? For the fishermen, Jesus’ command that asked for launching into the deep sounded foolish but was backed with power because Jesus said it. At all times, it is wise to answer when He commands. Know it that, “…the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25) Are you receiving a similar command that calls for you to launch out deep where there is nothing to show for? Simon responded to the command of Jesus, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.” (Luke 5:5-6)
Launching out at His command is breaking through for abundance where there is none to show for. Launching out in the place of hopelessness is an act of faith. Abraham acted in faith by obeying God when he was called to come out of his ground of certainty to uncertainty; from his ground of convenience to inconvenience.  It is written, “…he went out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:8-10)  Abraham launched out when he left his family behind, he let down when he dwelt and waited for the manifestation of God’s promise.
There was no record of doubt among the four fisher men and neither was there any record of complain recorded for Abraham. They acted by launching into God’s command. The word of God is easier said than done among the believers today. However, it is the one that acted the word from the heart that counts before God and not only the word that comes out of the mouth. Launch out as commanded by His word; let down all and He will lift you above and beyond your expectation.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace of constant obedience to the word of God.

FOCUS ON HIM

FAITH CAPSULE: Has He promised you something and you are not looking up to Him?

Deuteronomy 1:1-22

God is a faithful God. Lying is not in His character. Deception does not have a place in Him. He is true and whatever He says He will do is a done deal. God is absolutely faithful to His Word. It is written in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God that made this statement will not purposely build you up and turn around to pull you down. The children of Israel were delivered from the bondage of over four hundred years. It was a bondage which appeared would last from eternity to eternity. Their deliverance was not an empty one; it was backed with the promise of a land that flowed with milk and honey. The deliverance was enough confirmation for the children of Israel to know that their God is a mighty deliverer. He alone is the Almighty God. His plans are not for evil; they are for good. On their way to Canaan, the children of Israel encountered every representative of giants attempting to terminate God’s promise of getting them to the Promised Land. Victory, however, was won by the hand of God that was in place, to get them to Canaan, their Promise Land. The Red Sea could not hold them down; famine could not hold them down; and every other lack could not hold them down. God was at hand carrying and providing for every call they made. God wanted to carry out His promise.
At a certain stage of their journey, Moses said to them “Look, the LORD your God has set the land before you: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your father has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged (Det. 1:21).” Sadly, the children of Israel had a different mindset of getting to their Promise Land. They did not take to heart the word of God through Moses. They were close to the land, but they were not looking up to the land. They must have been looking down from the land. When God makes a promise and you are not looking up to that promise, you will miss out of His promise. Has He promised you something and you are looking down? Instead of moving by Moses’ direction, they all went to Moses and said, “Let us send men before us, and let them search out the land for us, and bring back word to us of the way by which we should go up, and of the cities into which we shall come (Deuteronomy1:22).”
This was not God’s plan. God’s plan was to take them to their promise land. The Israelites went and searched out the land as discouragement became their garment. Concerning you, focus on the promises of God the clear picture of His promise shall come to manifestation. Allow God to take you through just as He has brought you this far.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace of God to keep you in the promise of His word.

ADAPT TO TRUTH

FAITH CAPSULE: With truth, your battle is within your grasp if you will not give up truth.

2 Chronicles 18

The world is so wicked and the wickedness of this world is not hidden from God’s eye. God responded to the wickedness of this world as recorded in Genesis 6:5-6, “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.”  Indeed, world is wicked since the early days till today. Truth alone, absolute truth is a way to navigate this world under the auspices of God’s eye and not be a loser but a victorious to the glory of God.
Wickedness is battle to engage under heaven. Every step in the journey of life engages different battle.
How you fight your battle will determine the outcome of your battle. The battle which man engages comes up every day and the weapon to engage everyday war is walking in nothing but in absolute truth. When truth is absolutely true, victory becomes absolute and undeniable. The case of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah and Ahab, king of Israel in the book of 2Chronicles 18 is a clear evidence to the need for absolute truth. Ahab the king of Israel requested Jehoshaphat the king of Judah’s support in a battle against Syria. Jehoshaphat agreed and Ahab decided on how he was going to prosecute the battle by saying to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle.”   Ahab disguised himself and went into battle. Jehoshaphat fought the battle without disguising himself. The battle on that day became intensified for Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat in his truthfulness called on God and he prevailed. When battle intensified on Ahab, disguising could not prevail. Disguising, deception, or lying prevails only for a period. Truth never fails regardless of how long it takes to come to light. The bible recorded in 2Chronicles 19:1 Jehoshaphat returned safely to his house in Jerusalem while Ahab died and could not return.
Is there any battle that persists in your life?
Does it appear that you are losing? Are you fighting the Jehoshaphat way or the Ahab way? Fighting battle with truth as weapon on a regular basis shall prevail.
Today, exchange your weapon with absolute truth. Jesus said, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6) The bible also recorded, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  (John 8:32) With truth, your battle is within your grasp if you will not give up truth.  Try truth today, adapt to truth and become exposed to freedom from the hand of God.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace of God for absolute truth of God in your life.

GOD HEARS

FAITH CAPSULE: Take God for His word and know that He hears.

Numbers 14

The same God yesterday, today and tomorrow stated, “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24). By virtue of this scriptural verse, it is clear why David stated in both 2 Samuel 22:4, Psalm 18:3, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” God said He will hear before they call and David said ‘I will call’. David was sure of getting result because he demonstrated that there is answer in calling on the only One that hears before we call. Just as the Lord promised to answer before they call, He also stated that He will hear while they are speaking. This is evident with the children of Israel. During one of Israelites rebellious complaints, all they were speaking were heard by God and God responded, “…I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you” (Numbers 14:27-28). The One that gives ear does have ear to hear. It is important to know that God answers call and He also hears while we speak. What are you communicating to God or before God?  Most times our life in this world is affected by the words of our mouth. The Bible is true when it states that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
Often times when positive is communicated, positive becomes one’s portion because the One that hears does not stop hearing at every moment that we speak. This is the reason why the book of Ecclesiastes 5:6 says, “Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error…” As much as there is nowhere to hide from God, it is true that our words cannot go by Him without Him hearing us. Why not abstain from communicating negative words but speak positive words to His hearing? At every calling on God, do you mention His name? Know that, “…you who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent and give Him no rest till He establishes…” (Isaiah 62:6-7). Calling on His name and not keeping quiet over our expectation is what Jesus referred to when He commanded us in His Parable of the Persistent Widow stating that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18). Why not take God for His word and open your mouth wide for Him to fill it? (Psalm 81:10)

Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace that your word will get answer from Him.
