Opposite You

OPPOSITE YOU

Joshua 5:13-15, 6:1-21< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

The wall of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Jericho represented hindrance, delay, denial, frustration and it represented an agent of failure to the children of Israel at the point of clearing the entire hurdle that led to their Promised Land. The responsibility of crossing Jericho was laid on Joshua who took over the leadership after Moses. Joshua has the responsibility to go over the Wall of Jericho that is described as impenetrable. While Joshua was standing beside Jericho, he refused to look at Jericho but rather looked in the opposite direction. Are you looking to what is standing in your way of breakthrough or are you looking away from it and towards help from above? Joshua 5:13 mentioned how Joshua received the package of breaking through the Jericho of hindrance, ÒAnd it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, ÒAre You for us or for our adversaries?Ó Joshua did not look at the hindrance, but he rather lifted his eyes and looked in the opposite direction. He did this with the understanding that in the opposite direction of evil agendas is the package for GodÕs deliverance. Joshua encountered with the Commander of the LORDÕs army because he was able to look in the opposite direction of the representative of hindrance (Jericho). You can breakthrough if you will trust and know to look away from where you have been told there is no way. There is a way of escape because He is a faithful God.

Must Be Done

MUST BE DONE< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

Acts 9:1-19

What is it that must be done for you to enter into your divine assignment? Going and coming to fellowships on Sundays will not substitute for any believerÕs divine assignment. Through the Bible, every man that answered to the calling of divine assignment was able to answer to what must be done. The difference between believers who are serving to the fulfillment of their calling is their answering to what must be done. Saul of Tarsus was on his way to wreck havoc on the disciples of the Lord in < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Damascus when he encountered what must be done for him to live the fulfillment of his destiny in Christ Jesus. After SaulÕs response to the light that shone on him and brought him down to the ground, he asked who the Lord is and Jesus responded by introducing Himself. In SaulÕs response to JesusÕ introduction, it is recorded in Acts 9:6, ÒSo he, trembling and astonished, said, ÒLord, what do You want me to do?Ó Then the Lord said to him, ÒArise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.Ó SaulÕs name was changed for good to Paul and from the moment of receiving instruction, Paul began to move in the direction of GodÕs assignment for his life. Ask God to help you to locate what must be done to serve the Lord in deed and in truth. Determination is not what will help; but the grace of God is what will get you into your divine assignment. The Word of God promises that ÒHe will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go and He will guide you with His eyeÓ (Psalm 32:8).What must be done in your life will get you to where you must be in the Lord.

Repent

REPENT< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

1Kings 21

God is a consistent God when He declares in 2 Chronicles 7:14, ÒIf my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land Ó. Ahab, the king of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel, and his wife committed great wickedness in Israel. AhabÕs wickedness was so much to the point that he was referred to in 1 Kings 21:25, ÒBut there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife stirred him upÓ. Ahab was sold to do wickedness and with wickedness there is no way before God. It does not matter how far you have gone in doing wickedness; if only you can turn around at the point you are now and give it all to God. He has already promised that if you will humble yourself, pray and seek His face and turn from your wicked ways, healing will become your portion. It all starts at the point that you decide to turn away from doing wicked activities. When King Ahab heard and saw the need for repentance, forgiveness had its way in his life. It was testified about Ahab in 1 Kings 21:29, ÒSee how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.Ó As merciful and as gracious God is, when the time of the children of Ahab comes to play and if forgiveness is asked for, He probably will forgive. The point here is, no matter how much wickedness you think you have committed, God is merciful and gracious if you will do what it takes for you to be forgiven. It can never be too late if you are still alive; do not postpone your repentance. Repent today and He will activate your forgiveness today.

Remind Him

< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

REMIND HIM

2 Chronicles 20

King Jehoshaphat was faced with war against < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Moab and Ammon. As a result, ÒKing Jehoshaphat feared and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all JudahÓ (2 Chronicles 20:3). In his prayers, he reminded God concerning the works of GodÕs hand and God responded by sending Jahaziel. God commanded them where to go and He gave His word of promise in 2 Chronicles 20:17, ÒYou will not need to fight in this battle, position yourselves, standstill and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.Ó Indeed and in truth, the Word of God is for deliverance from every agent of destruction if we will hear and believe. Are you foreseeing any representative of Moab and Ammon in your life? King Jehoshaphat did not call on man nor consider what man could do before he took his case straight up to the only God who delivers. He reminded God concerning the works of His hands that have always prevailed. Do you have any testimony that you can remind Him of in order to provoke another testimony? If you have none, then remind Him concerning the ones that have been documented in the pages of the Bible for our admonitions and learning. Jehoshaphat and his people positioned themselves by standing still. They were unshakeable, and they rested their case in the hand of God. They acknowledge that they would not be able to fight a successive battle in their own strength and might. They positioned themselves victorious when they began to see victory before it was yet there. Above all, they busted into praise worship. It is written that when they began to Òsing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon and Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeatedÓ (2 Chronicles 20:22). How else can you get it? The Word of God is true and if you will believe in His Word, you will be delivered.

No Hatred

NO HATRED< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

1Kings 22:1-40

Ahab, the king of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel, wanted to enter into war with Syria in order to take Ramoth in Gilead. Having talked Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, into joining him against the Syrians; he now needed to consult the prophets for an inquiry from God. Ahab gathered four hundred and all four hundred confirmed to him that God will deliver Syria into his hand. Jehoshaphat insisted for a further confirmation from any other available prophet in the land. AhabÕ s response to Jehoshaphat in 1 Kings 22:8 was not a good one; it was of hatred, ÒSo the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, ÔThere is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.Õ And Jehoshaphat said, ÔLet not the king say such things!ÕÓ Ahab was hibernating hatred. Do you hibernate hatred for any handwork of God? Any believer that hates never makes headway and the longer they hold unto hatred is the closer they are to their self-destruction. The prophet Miciah let it be known to Ahab not go to war in spite of what the four hundred prophets said. King AhabÕs hate towards Miciah denied him from responding to the warning signs. Disaster was in place for Ahab because of the hatred that was in him. Ahab went to war against the advice of the prophet Miciah. He rather went in favor of four hundred prophets who prophesied falsely concerning the matter. Hate is a silent and eventual killer which every believer should pray against. Ahab went to war and never returned. Hatred killed him. Ask God to deliver you from everything that is representing hatred in your life in Jesus Name.
