Turn And See

TURN AND SEE< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

Deuteronomy 1:1-19

God had a plan for the children of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel when He took them out of the bondage of over 400 years. God was taking them to the Promised Land while they were taking their time away from getting to the Promised Land. In Horeb, they dwelt longer more than they should. Dwelling in Horeb took away from moving forward in direction of the promise, plan and purpose of God. As a result of dwelling when they were suppose to be moving in the direction of GodÕs plan, God spoke to them concerning their stagnation. Deuteronomy 1:6, ÒThe LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ÔYou have dwelt long enough at this mountain.Ó Are you experiencing any stagnation in the journey that is before you? As a believer, you know that the hand of God has come into place to move you forward, but you are just like the children of Israel at Horeb. What is causing you not to move forward? Have you been staying too long not to recognize the fact that you are not moving forward? The God that called you out of bondage did not design for you to take a passage as your dwelling ground. God said to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 1:7-8, ÒTurn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. 8 See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathersÑto Abraham, Isaac, and JacobÑto give to them and their descendants after them.Ó God told them to turn and take their journey which they had left behind. He also asked them to see what was in place for them. Faith demands that you turn while trusting in God for the move of His hand concerning your stagnation. Faith also demands that you see the promise of God when is yet to be unfolded. Ask God for the grace to be able to turn and to see based on your faith in Him. Today, take the Word that moved the children of Israel and let it move you forward.

Give It All

GIVE IT ALL< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

Joshua 1:1-9

Pray to the Almighty God for the grace to give yourself entirely to meditating on the Word of God. It is written in 2Timothy 3:16, ÒAll Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,Ó As it was profitable to the men of God in the Bible times, so it is still profitable to any man or woman today that gets into the Word on a consistent basis. At the time Moses was handing the leadership role of the children of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel over to Joshua, he emphasized meditation as a guideline that would get Joshua through in his assignment. He said to Joshua in Joshua 1:8, ÒThis Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.Ó Moses had been there and knew exactly what it would take to get through. He pointed out to Joshua that meditating on the Word of God was the way for Joshua to be successful in the assignment that was designated to him. Also, Paul the apostle knew that his days were numbered when he wrote to Timothy in 1Timothy 4:15, ÒMeditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.Ó Paul emphasized meditation just like Moses did. Meditation that works requires consistency; day and night, and giving oneself to it entirely. Meditation is labor and labor is a sacrifice. Any believer that is constant and consistent on meditating on the Word of God cannot be eliminated from the promise that is inhabited in any journey of success. Meditation is not memorization and when it becomes consistent, there will always be availability of grace to observe to do according to what the Word says. Give yourself entirety to meditation. It works to the glory of God.

Rebellion

REBELLION< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

Deuteronomy 1:19-36

The coming out of the children of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel from the bondage of over four hundred years was meant to take them up to the Promised Land. God is a God that does no evil but good. Rebellion robbed off the promise of God in the life of the generation that came out of Egypt. Rebellion is a silent killer that hides under for gradual processes that needs a consistent attention before it leads to the termination of a believer. Complaining is the first step. When a believer begins to complain about confronting situation in the journey of life the believer will not escape from getting discouraged. Discouragement from the heart will no doubt generate fear. Fear is to be afraid or terrified and it will cause one to loose faith. As a result of lack of faith, negative confession will overtake such a believer. Rebellion in the life of the children of Israel converted an 11 days journey into a 40 years journey. Are you in a stage of any journey or assignment that seems to be facing challenges despite the promise of God that He will see you through? There is a need for you to be vigilant by watching out for the development of the spirit of rebellion. Always remember, rebellion starts with complain, discouragement, fear and it ends with negative confession. GodÕs response to the rebellion of the children of Israel was stated by Moses in Deuteronomy 1:34-35, ÒAnd the LORD heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath saying, 35 ÒSurely not one of this evil generation will see that good land of which I swear to give to your fathers.Ó  Rebellion is evil and you are to abhor what is evil clinging to what is good.

Conscience

CONSCIENCE< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

1Timothy 1

As a believer there is a need to be conscious of your conscience. Twice in PaulÕs letter to Timothy, the issue on conscience was mentioned and this should call for attention of every believers. < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>American Heritage College dictionary defined conscience as, ÒThe awareness of a moral or ethical aspect to oneÕs conduct together with the urge to prefer right over wrong or a source of moral or ethical judgment or pronouncement.Ó Paul wrote to Timothy in 1Timothy 1:5-6, ÒNow the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk.Ó It can be said that conscience is what will drive home faith. Having and operating good conscience cannot be separated for a believer to live a life of testimony. Later in that first chapter, Paul wrote again, 1Timothy 1:19, ÒHaving faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck.Ó The issue of good conscience became an emphasis that has to constantly be in place for faith to have its way. Paul also pointed out some that have suffered a ship wreck in their journey because they did not operate in faith and a good conscience. Is your ship shaking or being moved beyond what you can control? Have you been carrying the Bible, the container of the Word of God around while turning away from doing good that is coming from your conscience? It is evident from the testimony of Paul that faith and good conscience operate together and they cannot be separated. An attempt to separate a good conscience from faith will lead to a ship wreck in the journey of life.

Saul To Paul

SAUL TO PAUL< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

Acts 9:1-22

The conversion from Saul to Paul was the enablement of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul testified to this in 1Timothy1:12, ÒAnd I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.Ó Before Paul was counted faithful by Jesus there was enablement in place. PaulÕs enablement took place when JesusÕ name sounded in his direction. Acts 9:4-6, ÒThen he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, ÒSaul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?Ó 5 And he said, ÒWho are You, Lord?Ó Then the Lord said, ÒI am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.Ó 6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, ÒLord, what do You want me to do?Ó Then the Lord said to him, ÒArise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.Ó Saul was an established persecutor and a hard hearted man that wanted to deny the mission of the Lord Jesus by all possible means. Saul heard the voice of Jesus but he questioned the voice. At the name of Jesus, Saul did not have power to question nor resist but to tremble. Saul was also astonished because the name was not for him to resist. It is written, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. (Philippians 2:10). Saul went beyond just bowing, but trembled and astonished. Above all, he lost his sight for three days and could not eat or drink for three days. All this happened on his way to < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Damascus in attempt to go and disable the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. Saul was disabled from answering Saul and became enabled to be answering Paul. Ask God to sound His name in your direction. His name, not just His voice will terminate all that doesnÕt represent the calling of God in your life. Saul the persecutor became Paul the apostle. He is a faithful God.
