FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong>\u00a0With desire, one is set not to give up but to push on to achieve expectations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proverbs 20, Matthew 15:21-28<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desire is a like a force that drives one to arrive at an expected end.\u00a0
Desire is an inner feeling that compels one to attain what the heart expects.\u00a0
With desire, one is set not to give up but to push on to achieve expectations.\u00a0
A woman of Canaan with desire had an inner feeling which compelled her to receive healing from Jesus despite the denial held against her from receiving from Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0
Matthew 15:21-22<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0records,\u00a0\u201cThen Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, \u2018Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
The woman of Canaan desired a positive response from Jesus but the response for her was enough to discourage her desire for Jesus.\u00a0
Matthew 15:23-24\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>records Jesus and His disciples\u2019 response to the woman of Canaan,\u00a0\u201cBut He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, \u2018Send her away, for she cries out after us.\u2019 But He answered and said, \u2018I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/em>
Life is full of ups and down as the world is loaded with discouragement to work against desire.\u00a0
The woman of Canaan maintained her desire and remained focused on Jesus.\u00a0
Instead of her giving up, she pressed further.\u00a0
She persisted, resisting all discouragement.\u00a0
Matthew 15:25<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0records,\u00a0\u201cThen she came and worshiped Him, saying, \u2018Lord, help me!\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
Despite her desire, Jesus answered her,\u00a0\u201cIt is not good to take the children\u2019s bread and throw it to the little dogs.\u201d (Matthew 1:26)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
The answer of Jesus was not enough to discourage the woman of Canaan\u2019s desire but made her insist and persist in her miracle.\u00a0
The woman responds to Jesus, \u201cYes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters\u2019 table.\u201d (Matthew 15:27)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
The desire of Caanan woman from the depth of her heart was not hidden from Jesus as Jesus ultimately answered her,\u00a0\u201cO woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.\u2019 And her daughter was healed from that very hour.\u201d (Matthew 15:28)<\/strong><\/em>
God only sees and moves by desires in the heart of man.\u00a0
Proverbs 21:2\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>states,\u00a0\u201cEvery way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
No one can hide in the heart from God.\u00a0
Proverbs 20:27<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0buttressed,\u00a0\u201cThe spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>
The case of the Canaan woman demonstrates that Jesus answers to all with a desire for expectation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
