{"id":10824,"date":"2023-09-06T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=10824"},"modified":"2023-09-05T18:10:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T18:10:44","slug":"established-focus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=10824","title":{"rendered":"ESTABLISHED FOCUS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong>\u00a0Focus on God and be steadfast not to contradict the journey to advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Genesis 19:12-26, Daniel 1<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is time to advance in the calling of the Lord.\u00a0<br \/>The process of advancing in the calling of the Lord demands having the trust to have a clean heart and a steadfast spirit.\u00a0<br \/>In addition to a clean heart and steadfast spirit, maintain focus and let the past be in the past by ignoring the multitude in life.\u00a0<br \/>Maintaining focus is crucial to making advance in the calling of the Lord.\u00a0<br \/>The focus will keep one from distraction.\u00a0<br \/>A failure to maintain focus will lead one to distraction.\u00a0<br \/>Distraction can lead to sudden and untimely death for its victims.\u00a0<br \/>Daniel is an example that denied distraction.<br \/>Daniel, while in captivity, maintained focus when he purposed in his heart not to defile God.\u00a0<br \/>The king appointed Daniel and his brothers with a daily provision of delicacies, wine, and three years of training.<br \/>It is possible to sound good for a young captive to accept, but to Daniel, it was considered not to focus wrongly.\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/><em><strong>Daniel 1:8<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0records the response of Daniel not to defile himself,\u00a0<em><strong>\u201cBut Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king\u2019s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><br \/>Daniel kept focus on becoming a vessel for God, and he made advancement everywhere he turned.\u00a0<br \/>Daniel engaged his journey in captivity with a purposeful heart.\u00a0<br \/>He allowed God to reign in his life when he refused to defile his body (the temple of God).\u00a0<br \/>Daniel was steadfast in not contradicting his journey to advance.\u00a0<br \/>The wife of Lot could not let the past be in the past.<br \/>She disregarded the command of God that said to her:\u00a0<em><strong>\u201cEscape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.\u201d (Genesis 19:17)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<br \/>The wife of Lot did the opposite when she looked back and became a pillar of salt\u00a0<em><strong>(Genesis19:26)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<br \/>Whatever she was looking for in her past represents a multitude (unnecessary baggage).\u00a0<br \/>The multitude in her life caused her to become a pillar of salt and not escape as ordained for her by God.\u00a0<br \/>No one goes forward by looking back.\u00a0<br \/>The wife of Lot is a testimony to the truth that no one sets sight on the past and can see what is ahead.\u00a0<br \/>The case of her is that of a shifted focus.\u00a0<br \/>Lot must have been steadfast, looking forward in obedience to the direction of the word of God.<br \/>Daniel could not allow any distraction but focused on being steadfast in his life journey.<br \/>It is time to advance in the calling of God, focusing on His word and avoiding distraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prayer for today:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>Ask for the strength of God to focus on Him.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAITH CAPSULE:\u00a0Focus on God and be steadfast not to contradict the journey to advance.
