{"id":10843,"date":"2023-09-14T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=10843"},"modified":"2023-09-13T23:22:20","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T23:22:20","slug":"no-substitute-for-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=10843","title":{"rendered":"NO SUBSTITUTE FOR PRAYER\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong>\u00a0Prayer is a way to stay away from temptation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Luke 22&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every engagement with Satan is temptation enablement.\u00a0<br \/>It happened that the day the serpent was able to engage Eve, the temptation to eat the fruit of the tree amid the garden became a manifestation in her life.\u00a0<br \/>Eve ate against the command of God to become disobedient to God.<br \/>Disobedience to God is like a flight from God, to become distanced from the presence of God.<br \/>With sin, no one can reach God.<br \/>Judas Iscariot engaged Satan.\u00a0<br \/><em><strong>Luke 22:3-6<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0records,\u00a0<em><strong>\u201cThen Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So, he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad and agreed to give him money. So, he promised and sought the opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0The temptation will come with disobedience.\u00a0<br \/>Disobedience to God is the evidence of betraying God.\u00a0<br \/>Temptation is the key that opens the door to all kinds of sin.\u00a0<br \/>Jesus emphasized that prayer is a way to stay away from temptation.\u00a0<br \/>The Bible states,<em><strong>\u00a0\u201cComing out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, \u201cPray that you may not enter into temptation.\u201d (Luke 22:39-40)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><br \/>Sleeping in the place of praying will be an avenue of temptation.\u00a0<br \/>When Jesus was praying, the disciples were sleeping.\u00a0<br \/>Jesus was praying earnestly, but the disciples were sleeping with sorrow.\u00a0<br \/>At the time the disciples were sleeping, Jesus approached them and said,\u00a0<em><strong>\u201cWhy do you sleep? Rise and pray lest you enter into temptation.\u201d (Luke 22:46)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<br \/>Jesus must have seen what was about to happen when He came to speak to the disciples about their sleeping in the place of being awake.\u00a0<br \/>Luke 22:47-48 records,\u00a0<em><strong>\u201cAnd while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him.
