FAITH CAPSULE:\u00a0<\/strong>Knowing Him prompts one to know self.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 16: 13-20, Mark 10:46-52<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What people say He is matters not, but who do you say He is?\u00a0
In\u00a0Matthew 16:13-16,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Jesus asks His disciples,\u00a0\u201cWho do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?\u201d So they said, \u201cSome say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.\u201d He said to them, \u201cBut who do you say that I am?\u201d Simon Peter answered and said, \u201cYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
Who do you say He is?\u00a0
It does not matter what people say He is, but it does count for you to know who He is to you.\u00a0
Who do you say He is?\u00a0
Knowing Him will determine how you will call Him.
Knowing who He is to you will determine how you identify and relate with Him.
The Psalmist knows his God,\u00a0\u201cI will say of the Lord, \u201cHe is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>(Psalm 91:2)<\/strong><\/em>
In\u00a0Matthew 9:27,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying,\u00a0\u201cSon of David, have mercy on us!\u201d Matthew 15:22 recorded, \u201cA woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, \u201cHave mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! …\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
Knowing who He is will determine how you call on Him.
Blind Bartimaeus, a roadside beggar, heard that Jesus was passing his way when he cried out,\u00a0\u201cSon of David, have mercy on me!\u201d and Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.\u201d (Mark 10:48-49)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0
When the blind Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, the people who attempted to keep him quiet were in vain.\u00a0
Challenges will try to keep one quiet while knowing Him shall also be strengthened to gain salvation.\u00a0
One who knows who He is shall gain uncommon attention, attention that will cause Him to stand still for such to access Him.
On one occasion, Peter opened up for Jesus to teach the disciples about the church.\u00a0
In the teaching was an opening to knowing self.
Peter stated,\u00a0\u201cYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0Jesus answered and said to him,\u00a0\u201cBlessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.\u201d (Matthew 16:17-18)<\/strong><\/em>
Peter learned to know the assignment of the rock.
The Bible identifies His church will be built, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail..\u00a01 Corinthians 3:16)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
Ephesians 2:20\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>confirmed Christ as the cornerstone,\u00a0\u201chaving been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>
Knowing who the people He is shall provoke knowing self.
Allow the word to enter so that you may become His building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
