FAITH CAPSULE:\u00a0<\/strong>Waiting on God is keeping His ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 6<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

King David, a man after the heart of God, shared his experience in\u00a0Psalm 37:34,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWait on the Lord and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0
Undoubtedly, waiting on God is keeping His way.\u00a0
The way of God is His word.\u00a0
Jesus, the living Word of God, stated,\u00a0\u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.\u201d (John 14:6)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0To\u00a0keep the way of God is the character of living for God by praying, fasting and spending time in His word, watching for the manifestation of expectation.\u00a0
Waiting in Prayer:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Jesus taught about prayer in\u00a0Matthew 6:5-8, \u201cAnd when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites.\u00a0For\u00a0they love to pray\u00a0standing\u00a0in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men.\u00a0Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.\u00a0But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place;\u00a0and\u00a0your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.\u00a0And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For\u00a0they think that\u00a0they will be heard\u00a0for their many words. Therefore\u00a0do\u00a0not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Who can instruct or teach waiting in prayer more ideally than Jesus?
Waiting in Fasting:<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Just as Jesus mentioned waiting in prayer, He mentioned waiting in fasting.\u00a0
Matthew 6:16-18, \u201cMoreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For\u00a0they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
To wait on God by fasting will not end in wasting.<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0
Praying and fasting is a must be done.
Jesus did not suggest praying and fasting but specifically instructed:\u00a0\u201cWhen you pray and fast,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0indicating fasting and praying as a must be done by His disciples.
Wait by watching<\/em>: Micah testified to spending time waiting and watching.\u00a0\u201cTherefore, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.\u201d (Micah 7:7)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0
Looking up to God is watching and waiting to hear from Him.
One will receive when one can see in the spoken word of God.\u00a0
Looking up to God, spend time in the living word of God.
He is a faithful God.
He will speak His word that never fails.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
