FAITH CAPSULE:\u00a0<\/strong>The evil sin is rooted in the lack of knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Samuel 2:22-36<\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible records the evil activities of Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli.\u00a0
The sons of Eli were corrupt and did not know the Lord.
1 Samuel 2:12-17 <\/em><\/strong>documents how sin was great in Silho because the word of God was despised in Shiloh, to all the Israelites.
1 Samuel 2:17<\/em> mentions,\u00a0\u201c\u2026the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for the men abhorred the offering of the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>
The evil sin is rooted in the lack of knowledge by the sons of Eli.
Are you paying attention to the place of God in your household?\u00a0
Is there a lack of dishonoring of God in your household that will count against you or our household?\u00a0
1 Samuel 2:30<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>records that God reacted to the house of Eli because of the evil sin of Hophni and Phinehas,\u00a0\u201cTherefore the Lord God of Israel says: \u2018I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.\u2019 But now the Lord says: \u2018Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>
The Sons of Eli reduced Eli to the curse of disobedience to God.
Eli warned his sons of divine judgment\u00a0(1 Samuel 2:25)<\/em><\/strong>, but the sons failed to respond.
Are you engaging in serious measures more than giving mouth warnings to your children or anyone in your household to avoid the consequences of dishonoring (despising) God?
One or two sinners against the word of God in the household experience the consequences without exception.
Eli should have done more than a warning to correct his sons to avoid the consequences of violating God.\u00a0
Eli recorded everything right for God but not enough to avoid the destruction of his household.\u00a0
God spoke to Samuel about the sin of Eli: \u201cFor I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them. And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli\u2019s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(1 Samuel 3:13-14)<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>
The Sons of Eli were warned by Eli but not restrained from their evil.\u00a0\u00a0
The sin against God by the sons of Eli made the household pay the consequence of their evil.
With God, no excuse is excusable when God is despised.\u00a0
Proverbs 13:13<\/em><\/strong> buttresses,\u00a0\u201cHe who despises the word will be destroyed, But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>
As one with the fear of God, spare no excuse for children to violate God by their way of life against the word of God.
The Eli warning for Hophni and Phinehas was short.
The warning does not count as an excuse for him from the consequence of sin before God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
