{"id":12339,"date":"2025-11-17T16:24:03","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T16:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=12339"},"modified":"2025-11-17T16:24:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T16:24:03","slug":"ignore-revenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=12339","title":{"rendered":"IGNORE REVENGE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong> Do not engage wicked in revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Genesis 39<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joseph dislikes wickedness; sinning before God is evidently not his way of life.<br \/>The life of Joseph demonstrated seeking God.<br \/><strong>Genesis 39:9<\/strong> records the character of Joseph, <strong>\u201c\u2026<\/strong><em><strong>How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><br \/>Whatever anyone does before God continually will count and determine, such is seeking God.<br \/>Joseph continually lived against wickedness.<br \/>All great wickedness does not hide from God.<br \/>Wickedness does not escape the eyes of God.<br \/>Above all, great wickedness before God is having the word of God in the mouth but far from the mind. <em><strong>(Jeremiah 12:2)<\/strong><\/em><br \/>The onset of wickedness towards Joseph is glaring, especially since his father loved him.<br \/><em><strong>Genesis 37:3-4 <\/strong><\/em>records, <em><strong>\u201cNow Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also, he made him a tunic of many colors.\u00a0But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><br \/>The testimony of the love of the father of Joseph is the evidence of the hatred of the brothers towards Joseph.<br \/>The wickedness was activated towards Joseph when:<br \/>Joseph had a dream of greatness, which provoked his brother to attempt to kill him, but later sold him into slavery, which took him to Egypt.<br \/>Joseph was not in a position to do wickedness in return for his brothers, but he found favor before God.<br \/>The Ishmaelites bought Joseph from his brothers.<br \/>As a slave in the house of Potiphar, the Lord was with him.<br \/>The wife of his master accused him, saying, <em><strong>\u201cThe Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me;\u00a0so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.\u201d (Genesis 39:17-18)<\/strong><\/em><br \/>Wrong accusation is wicked.<br \/>It was wickedness that followed Joseph that brought him into prison.<br \/>While in prison, he interpreted a dream, which drew the attention of others.<br \/>He gained the position to engage with the Pharaoh.<br \/>The interpretation of the dream by Pharaoh promoted Joseph from prison to become the Prime Minister of the land.<br \/>All through the journey of Joseph, there was no record of his responding to wickedness against him because his character retained the presence of God for him.<br \/>The brothers of Joseph unknowingly sought food in Egypt at the time of famine, as they located Joseph in a position of authority.<br \/>With no enmity from Joseph to the wickedness of his brothers, he received the brothers well.<br \/>The wickedness of the brothers of Joseph separated Joseph, at age seventeen, until he was over the age of thirty, when he saw his father.<br \/>Wickedness and sin could not derail Joseph from arriving at the center of his divine calling of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prayer for today: <\/strong><em>Ask that evil will not deny your answering to the calling of God.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAITH CAPSULE: Do not engage wicked in revenge.
