{"id":5488,"date":"2015-01-16T10:44:45","date_gmt":"2015-01-16T10:44:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=5488"},"modified":"2015-01-16T10:44:45","modified_gmt":"2015-01-16T10:44:45","slug":"the-whole-bible-counts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=5488","title":{"rendered":"THE WHOLE BIBLE COUNTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Faith Capsule: <\/b>Do not neglect Old Testament attempting to navigate into the blessings of God.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Malachi 3<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Bible recorded how Jesus took His stand against Satan\u2019s temptation. <b><i>Matthew 4:1-3<\/i><\/b> stated, <b><i>\u201cThen Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. <\/i><\/b><b><i>\u00a0And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. <sup>\u00a0<\/sup>Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, \u201cIf You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.\u201d<\/i><\/b> Satan tempted Jesus and Jesus responded, <b><i>\u201cIt is written, \u2018Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/b><b><i>(Matthew 3:4)<\/i><\/b> Interestingly, Jesus response was from the Old Testament\u2019s book of <b><i>Deuteronomy 8:3<\/i><\/b> which stated, <b><i>\u201c\u2026that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Satan was not done with Jesus when he took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple asking Jesus to throw Himself down if He was the Son of God. Again, Jesus responded, <b><i>\u201cIt is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.\u201d (Matthew 3:7)<\/i><\/b> Jesus quoted from Deuteronomy 6:16 to shut Satan up. As if the Satan is deaf and not able to hear and see that Jesus is not in position for him to sway to sin, he went further by leading Jesus to a high mountain promising to give Jesus what does not belong to him if Jesus should fall down and worship him. Jesus responded, <b><i>\u201c\u2026Away with you, Satan! For it is written, \u2018You shall worship the <\/i><\/b><b><i>Lord<\/i><\/b><b><i> your God, and Him only you shall serve.\u2019\u201d(Matthew 4:10)<\/i><\/b> Without debate Jesus\u2019 quotation from the Old Testament\u2019s Deuteronomy 10:20 derailed Satan\u2019s temptation. Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, the one we are to live life by His example proved to us that Old Testament is very much our manual for life as much as the New Testament.<br \/>\nAre you one of those that are reducing the words of Old Testament and expecting to increase in the blessings of God\u2019s promise? For example, the Old Testament\u2019s book of <b><i>Malachi 3:8-10<\/i><\/b> stated <b><i>\u201cWill a man rob God?<\/i><\/b><b><i> Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, \u2018In what way have we robbed You?\u2019 In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,\u201d Says the Lord of hosts, \u201cIf I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.\u201d<\/i><\/b> Do not neglect Old Testament attempting to navigate into the blessings of God.
