FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong> Mercy belongs to God.<\/p>\n

Genesis 19<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mercy of God is all that matters to live heaven on earth where wickedness resides. Above evil hands, above all advances of the enemy, the mercy of God is more than available to answer for man\u2019s deliverance and preservation. When evil activities of Sodom and Gomorrah provoked the power of God, destruction answered for Sodom and Gomorrah. Before the onset of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the mercy of God singled out Lot and family for deliverance.
\nOn the day of destruction mercy activated for Lot and family as it is written, \u201cWhen the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, \u201cArise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife\u2019s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord<\/em><\/strong> being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.\u201d (Genesis 19:15-16)<\/em><\/strong> Lord being merciful over Lot could not give up on Lot\u2019s lingering for deliverance.
\nAre you in position for God\u2019s merciful in every way of life?
\nAs if Lot was not happy for God\u2019s destruction, he reluctantly rejected the offer of his escape to the mountains as directed. Lot asked for increased mercy to escape to another possible land. It is written, \u201cThen Lot said to them, \u201cPlease, no, my lords! <\/em><\/strong>Indeed now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die. See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one; please let me escape there (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.\u201d (Genesis 19:18-20) Lot realized the mercy of God upon his life as a result, he asked for increased mercy to plead God for other option. Zoar land was the other option for Lot to escape. Lot\u2019s request was granted and was directed as stated, \u201c<\/em><\/strong>Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.<\/em><\/strong>\u201d (Genesis 19:22)
\n<\/em><\/strong>Just as power belongs unto God, mercy also belongs to God. Mercy, meaning loyal love, is the conventional love of the covenant-keeping God. Mercy of God answers in two fold. First, in Romans 9:15-16 <\/em><\/strong>God spoke to Moses about His mercy, \u201cI will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.\u201d<\/em> So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Second, mercy answers for those who fear God as testified in Luke 1:50, \u201cAnd His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>
\nGod gives mercy as He chooses; God gives mercy to those who fear Him.<\/p>\n
