{"id":8118,"date":"2019-05-30T13:07:31","date_gmt":"2019-05-30T13:07:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=8118"},"modified":"2019-05-30T13:07:31","modified_gmt":"2019-05-30T13:07:31","slug":"avoid-temptation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=8118","title":{"rendered":"AVOID TEMPTATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong> Prayer is a way to stay away from temptation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Luke 22 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every engagement with Satan is temptation enablement.<br \/>\nIt was the day serpent engaged Eve that the temptation to eat of the fruit of the tree in the midst of the garden became a manifestation in her life. Eve ate against God\u2019s command to become disobedient to God and was distanced from God\u2019s presence.<br \/>\nJudas Iscariot engaged Satan. The Bible records, <strong><em>\u201cThen Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So, he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them.\u00a0 And they were glad and agreed to give him money.\u00a0 So, he promised and sought the opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.\u201d (Luke 22:3-6)<\/em><\/strong> The temptation will come with disobedient. Disobedient to God is the evidence of betraying God. The temptation is the key which opens door to all kinds of sin.<br \/>\nJesus emphasized that prayer is a way to stay away from temptation.<br \/>\nThe Bible records<strong><em> \u201cComing out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, \u201cPray that you may not enter into temptation.\u201d (Luke 22:39-40)<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Sleeping in the place of praying will lead to the avenue of temptation. While He was praying the disciples were sleeping. Jesus was praying earnestly but the disciples were sleeping with sorrow. Jesus approached them and said, <strong><em>\u201cWhy do you sleep? Rise and pray lest you enter into temptation.\u201d (Luke 22:46)<\/em><\/strong> Jesus must have seen what was about to happen when He came to speak to the disciples about their sleeping in the place of being awake.<br \/>\nAt Jesus time with His disciples, <strong><em>\u201c\u2026a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. 48 But Jesus said to him, \u201cJudas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?\u201d<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Judas, the one Satan entered sold out his Lord and savior cheaply. \u00a0Consequence<br \/>\nIs there any way you have been selling Jesus out consciously or unconsciously?<br \/>\nAt the time Jesus woke them up from sleeping they have entered the situation that caused all of them to be scattered, to save their life.<br \/>\nAt the time Jesus woke them up from sleeping instead of praying Peter was set to strike instead of him to allow Jesus to speak to the situation.\u00a0 Peter struck by cutting off the servant of the high priest\u2019s ear. Jesus responded by speaking to the situation.<br \/>\nWith temptation in the place of prayer, man will end up denying and selling Jesus out.<br \/>\nEngage unceasing prayer to disallow temptation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today:<\/strong> <em>Ask for the grace to be strengthened on prayer altar.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAITH CAPSULE: Prayer is a way to stay away from temptation.
