FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong> Your choice is to allow or disallow distraction.<\/p>\n

Job 2<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Samson was pressed by his wife when he revealed the secret of God upon his life to his enemy.
\nJudges 16:18-20<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0records the distraction of Samson,\u00a0\u201cWhen Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, \u201cCome up once more, for he has told me all his heart.\u201d So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand. Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. And she said, \u201cThe Philistines are upon you, Samson!\u201d So he awoke from his sleep, and said, \u201cI will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!\u201d But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>
\nSamson\u2019s wife as his distraction was not an excuse, but his choice.
\nDuring the challenges of Job, his wife was an agent of distraction with the device to derail Job from living life for the glory of God. Unlike Samson, Job’s choice denied his wife from derailing him.
\nBible records Job\u2019s wife’s device of distraction,\u00a0\u201cThen his wife said to him, \u201cDo you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!\u201d (Job 2:9)<\/em><\/strong>
\nUnlike Samson, Job resisted his wife’s device of distraction by responding to his wife\u2019s distracting device,\u00a0\u201cYou speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?\u201d (Job 2:10)<\/em><\/strong>
\nAre you avoiding devices of distraction before you?
\nContinually, give attention to deny distraction from the inside or distraction from the outside that is set to deny your divine assignment in the journey of life.
\nDeny distraction in your life.
\nMany accepted to welcome Jesus into their hearts as Lord and savior but the agents of distraction are in place to deny the attention of many from living life for God.
\nDoes that sound like you?
\nWith Jesus in your heart, you must be living life like Him, behave the word of God, to avoid an unfruitful life. For anyone who has welcomed and received Jesus into one’s life, there is a need to maintain His presence.
\nMartha welcomed Jesus into her house but could not avoid distraction from denying her to gain from the presence of Jesus.\u00a0Luke 10:38\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>records,\u00a0\u201cNow it happened as they went that He entered a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.\u201d
\n<\/em><\/strong>Are you like Martha?
\nHave you welcomed Him into your house by receiving Him?
\nMartha welcomed Jesus into her house,\u00a0\u201cBut Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, \u2018Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me.\u2019\u201d (Luke 10:40)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Distraction denied Martha from Jesus’ presence in her house.
\nThere is nothing wrong in serving God but distraction can derail a believer from arriving at God’s divine assignment.
\nMartha welcomed Him into her house but became distracted.
\nWho or what is your distraction?<\/p>\n
