{"id":8638,"date":"2020-07-20T16:27:55","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T16:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=8638"},"modified":"2020-07-20T16:27:55","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T16:27:55","slug":"follow-his-calling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faithprescription.com\/?p=8638","title":{"rendered":"FOLLOW HIS CALLING"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FAITH CAPSULE:<\/strong>\u00a0Following is not a one time or an on and off action.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Luke 5:1-32<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus was teaching when He stated,\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cNot everyone who says to Me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.\u201d (Matthew 7:21)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>Does that sound like you?\u00a0<br \/>The will of Father is to serve by following God in His word fully.<br \/>Is it your desire to serve God by following Jesus fully?\u00a0<br \/>To follow Him fully (to serve God) demands to be steadfast.<br \/>One who is self-full cannot be word full.\u00a0<br \/>Following is not a one time or an on and off action.\u00a0<br \/>Following the word demands to be steadfast, to be fixed in direction, or to be firm in purpose.\u00a0<br \/>To be steadfast in following the living word of God is not a self-satisfying engagement, and one who is self-full cannot be possibly steadfast.\u00a0<br \/>King David realized the importance and the need for one to be steadfast when he called on God in\u00a0<strong><em>Psalm 51:10, \u201cCreate in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><br \/>A steadfast spirit is what caused Caleb and Joshua to follow God fully. Caleb and Joshua refused to flow with the crowd confessing negative against the word of God that promised them a land that flows with milk and honey. They followed the word of God in the face of Moses and all the people positively. By their positive confession, God declared,\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cMy servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.\u201d (Numbers 14:24)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Following the commanding word of God follows God fully.<br \/>At the time of the calling of Elisha through Elijah,\u00a0<strong><em>\u201c\u2026He left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, \u2018Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.\u2019 And he said to him, \u2018Go back again, for what have I done to you?\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/><strong><em>So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen\u2019s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.\u201d (1 King 19:20-21)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>Elisha left all behind when he answered the calling of God.\u00a0<br \/>In answering, Elisha demonstrated steadfastness. He emptied himself by getting rid of all that could have held him back.\u00a0<br \/>Elisha used his oxen\u2019s equipment as a boiler for the slaughtered oxen.
