FAITH CAPSULE: The Word requires all of our being to serve Him.

2 Chronicles 26:1-23

To know God is to trust Him. Trusting God is seeking God. The psalmist buttressed, “and those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” (Proverbs 9:10) Seeking God is the reason why we have life. It is important to know and to have understanding of the Lord God we serve. Psalm 14:2 also stated, “The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.” Are you one that truly seeks God?

God is not a slave master but a Saving Master. His word commanded, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:5) Is He your God? If He is your God, know that you shall love the Lord ‘your’ God. Evidently, the command is not by force it is for any one that accepts Him as Lord God. The standard requirement for loving Him is, loving Him with all our being. The Word requires all of our being to serve Him. Loving God with all your being, engage Him constantly and allow your heart to be pure before Him (Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God Matthew 5:8). Ones that seek God with all heart, with all soul, and with all strength, will heed Him. God does not lower the standard of expectation if man falls short of His command. It makes no difference how often one attend church seeking God demands knowledge and understanding. When man is not right with man, man cannot be right with God. In seeking God, there is so much to gain.

Uzziah sought God at the beginning and not able to seek him through when he was king. As a result of Uzziah’s incomplete seeking God, the later life of Uzziah was a disappointment. The word stated in 2 Chronicles 26:5, “He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.” In seeking Him, Uzziah gained prosperity and was established. When he departed from seeking God, he entered into affliction. He became out of tune with God and turned to the world. Disappoint your adversary by holding on to God’s appointment for your life. Let not your story become like that of King Uzziah. Seek the Lord God with all your being.

Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace to seek Him diligently regardless of any situation.

KEEP YOUR HEART DILIGENTLY

The Word of God has never proved to be a waste in any issue of life. In fact and in truth, every word in the pages of the Bible addresses every area and issue of living life. The Word of God cannot be broken. The Word of God is true to perform and to perfect according to His promises. Jesus is the Living Word of God and He came stating, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) The abundant life was brought to life as a gift by Jesus for man. However, man must know to keep his heart with all diligence in order to fully possess living life abundantly. The book of Proverbs 4:23 buttressed, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Those that know to keep heart with all diligence wholly trust in God for His promises that never fail. Those that know to keep heart with all diligence establish the promises of God in their heart before it actually physically manifests. Trusting in God is not rushing to receive but rather resting on the promises of God that never fail. Trusting God in the absence of something can be challenging. Also trusting God when time is absolutely not on our side can be exhausting. Trusting on God for a way where there is no way can be exceedingly stressful, but it is trust when we remain strengthened by His word.

However, in going the wilderness of life, the only way out to the expected end is rooted in trusting God to show up at every juncture where there is no sign for survival. Caleb and Joshua were the only survivors among thousands of the children of Israel that left Egypt for the Promised Land. Caleb and Joshua survived because they saw hope where there was no hope. They both remembered the Lord’s doing and trusted in what the Lord was capable of doing. Caleb and Joshua trusted God enough and took an odd stand among their brethren who failed to trust in God’s promise. Caleb by virtue of his trust in God’s promise stated, “I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart.” (Joshua 14:7) Evidently, it cannot be confused that trust is heart activated and mouth driven. Trust is not just a thing of the mouth, but it is also from the heart. If it is not rooted in the heart, it will not stand in the physical, no matter how loud or consistent is being communicated. Unlike Caleb and Joshua, the people who went to spy the land failed to trust because their heart was not diligently kept.

Caleb testified, “Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God.” (Joshua 14:8)Clearly, the Word of Joshua 14:7-8 pointed out the importance of keeping our hearts with all diligence. A Heart that is well kept will not fumble into negative confession when addressing the issues of life. A Heart that is well kept will diligently see into the promises of God while they are yet to be manifested in the physical. A Heart that is kept diligently will receive the promises when no negative confession is made. A Heart that is kept diligently is the heart that wholly follows through with God; it is the heart that operates in a different spirit, a spirit like that of Joshua and Caleb. A failure to keep the heart diligently is a passage to missing out in what God promised. Those that went to spy in the Promised Land with Joshua and Caleb made the heart of the people melt. (Joshua 14:8) A melted heart misses out on the promises of God. A melted heart is the evidence of not keeping the heart with all diligence. The heart of the Israelites was not kept with diligence when it melted as a result of the spies’ negative report. By virtue of their melted heart the issue of life became terminated on their behalf.

Trust only in God and not in man. Trust only in God and His promises. Trust only in God and not in what people consider as majority. The majority failed to trust God for His promises because of what they saw on the ground and not because of what was spoken from above to all who were on ground. Joshua and Caleb refused to flow with the majority but with what was spoken from above because their hearts were diligent. As a result of their diligent heart , they entered into the promise of God. Have you received any promise in the Word of God? Keep your heart diligently and it will address the issues of your life.

Trust will not only deliver needs, but it will also bring preservation into the life of one that trusts God for His word. Caleb’s trust in God made God to keep him and he testified, “And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old.” (Joshua 14:10) There is no other way out to the expected end but only in trusting in God. Until trusting God graduates from one’s mouth to the heart, one is only operating in one’s own understanding.

FAITH CAPSULE:
A failure to keep the heart diligently is a passage to miss God’s promise.

PRAISE HIM TO RAISE YOU

FAITH CAPSULE: God cannot be rushed out of His plan of salvation.

1 Kings 19

Are you one that runs before making a decision to ask God if you are to run or not? Whenever challenges come like a flood, it does not matter who you are in the Lord but it matters wait in trusting God. Elijah executed the prophets of Baal at Brook Kishon and Jezebel the wife of King Ahab threatened to do the same to Elijah. Elijah did not receive the news well but responded to run without seeking God. It is written, “But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die…” (1 Kings 19:4) As a believer, when we are faced with challenges we should dress up in faith and avoid hasty decision. Waiting on God does not lead to wasting away. The bible encouraged us about waiting in Isaiah 40:31 stating, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run” Also, waiting on God is trusting God. To put our trust in God is to have taken a position under a shield which never fails. Proverbs 30:5 buttressed, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” God responded to Elijah’s running with a command stating, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD…” (1 Kings 19:11)The command for Elijah to stand is waiting for God to show up. Are you experiencing a similar situation, where you have taken run where walking is the solution to be stable?
While Elijah was standing on the mountain waiting for God, “…the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.” (1Kings 19:11) Trusting God does not intimidate God to respond at our own timing. Trusting is waiting till He answers regardless of the magnitude of challenge. God cannot be rushed out of His salvation plan. God did not show up in the great and strong wind neither did He showed up in the earthquake or fire. God’s time of visitation cannot be controlled by man. Time of the year is not too late to continue to trust God by waiting for your expectation to be manifested. Engage praising God when it seems too late to hear from God and He will raise you above and beyond your expectation while you praise Him.
Prayer for today: Ask God to deliver you in His righteousness.

HIS WAY IS HIS PRESENCE

FAITH CAPSULE: The way of God is His word and His word is His presence.

Exodus 33

Do not allow yourself to be limited by your thoughts but let your thoughts in the word of God reign and rule over your entire situation. Isaiah 55:8-9 documented, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Encased in His thoughts are His ways. The way of God is the word of God. The word of God is His presence. Take to the word of God, His word is true to perform and to perfect; His word is mighty.

Are you taking to your thoughts or your ways? Taking to your words or your ways is telling God you are in charge and you know more about yourself. God spoke clearly and directly to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in he womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”(Jeremiah 1:5) God knows us more than we know ourselves and His always waiting for those who wait on Him to know His ways. Moses, at point in His journey, despite his relationship with God called on God for the way to go. It is written, “Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:12-14) The way of God is His word and His word is His presence.

It is important to study; know and to do what is written in the pages of the bible. Knowing and not doing is hindering one’s glorious destiny. Are you willing to commit all to His hand by exchanging your way for His way? God is faithful to lead and guide us in His way if we seek and ask for His way. Let not your thoughts override you and lead you outside of the way of God. The Bible admonished us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace to enable you to take to His way in every area of life.

DO NOT SNUB HIS WORD

FAITH CAPSULE: To snub the word of God is subbing ones glorious destiny.

Luke 19: 1-10, Acts 16:16-40

Engaging the instructions of God is engaging a glorious destiny. Also, snubbing God’s instruction for one’s life is substituting God’s ordained position for one’s life. The word of God gave a clear instruction to keep His Spirit burning and alive in man’s life when it stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Jesus for you Do not quench the Spirit.” Word of God made us to realize that joy is what gives us access to the presence of God. Psalm 16:11 buttressed, “…in the presence of God is fullness of joy.” The apostle Paul reiterated in Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” God will only survive in a joyful environment. In Zacchaeus’ seeking of Jesus, he gained the attention of Jesus, “…When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”” (Luke 19:5) Just like He offered Zacchaeus so He has made Himself available to every man that will respond the same way Zacchaeus responded. The Bible recorded Zacchaeus’ response, “So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.” (Luke 19:6)

Can you respond to Him joyfully when He comes to locate you at your sycamore tree? The Bible is not telling us just for the fun of it that Zacchaeus received Him joyfully, but it is telling us so we can observe to do what is written. Prayer, the calling of God’s attention, is to be without ceasing not only when there is need. A prayer-less life is equal to a prevail-less life while a prayerful life provokes prevailing life. Paul and Silas, they prayed, they sang and the Holy Ghost came down. Acts 16: 25-26, “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.” Above all, giving thanks is the ultimate because the word recorded it as the will of God in Christ Jesus. Give God thanks in all things and for all things. Most importantly, thanksgiving will only flow where there is a flow of joy and the Spirit of God will respond to demonstrate the presence of God. The word of God is true to the core if you will incorporate yourself in the word.

Prayer for today: Ask God to fill you with the grace to constantly engage His word as instructed in the pages of the bible.
