FEED ON WORD

FAITH CAPSULE: The word of God is meant for man to feed on and not to be a victim of self-destruction.

Psalm 18

Man can fast by not eating bread for days but the word of God should not be put on fast under no circumstances. Word from the mouth of God is a live wire for man in this wicked of world. Jesus declared the importance of the word from the mouth of God, But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)
It is exceedingly important for man to settle it in the heart that the word of God is God Himself. Think of it, the word of God is His mark (signature), the mark of God only represents God. In life, hear the word that proceeds from the mouth of God to take a position in the presence of God as shield. The word of God that located Abram answered as shield for Abram as stated in Genesis 15:1, After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” The word of God that came to Abram was God Himself. Psalm 18:30 buttressed, “The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” The word of God is God, a proven shield and not any other God that shielded Abram.
The word of God that proceeds from the mouth of God is meant for man not to be a victim of self-destruction. God already sent His word as stated in Psalm 107:20, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” If we are more dependent on word from the mouth of God more than daily bread, living life should be better.
A believer that claims to be feeding on the word of God but yet with no evidence of ways of God, lack of understanding becomes the testimony of such believer. Jesus questioned and answered the issue of lack of understanding as stated, “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.”(John 8:43) According to the word of God, lack of understanding is the evidence of listening disability. Lack of understand as a result of listening disability leads to failure to feed on the word of God.
Jeremiah had understanding when he found the word of God. He testified, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15:16) Word of God is indeed the manual life for man that feeds on the word of God.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace that makes word of God become a personal priority to feed on.

ABOUT THINKING

FAITH CAPSULE: To ask or think in one’s conscious heart will get God’s attention.

Ephesians 3

Whatever is meditated in the heart is what we think in the heart.
What are you thinking in your heart?
A positive thinking breeds a positive manifestation while a negative thinking breeds negative manifestation. To be thinking or to think before God is also a way of meditating. To be thinking things demands one’s conscious mind to call and get God’s intervention.
By thinking things is a way of calling on God and get answers as God stated in His word, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3) In the book of Zechariah 13:9 God also encouraged the need of thinking things as a way to call on Him as He stated, “They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” Truly, thinking about things in the heart will get God’s response as Isaiah 65:24 buttressed, “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Are you thinking things or meditating things consciously in the heart for God’s intervention or to lift the name of God?
The importance of things which man meditate or think about in one’s conscious heart (mind) will get God’s attention beyond man’s expectation. There is great grace to receive from God when thinking things occupies the heart of man as stated in the book of Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Evidently by the word of God, when asking or thinking things becomes a way of calling God for expectation, manifestation becomes exceedingly abundantly answers according to the power that works in man.
Do you have the power that works in man for manifestation exceedingly, abundantly through thinking? The power that works in us points out in Jesus’s question and answer in John 6:28-29, “Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
According to the above scripture, the power of God that works in us is in believing in Him whom He sent. God said it that He sent His word to heal and deliver us from our destruction. (Psalm 107:20) The power of God is the word of God which is Jesus. Jesus Himself declared, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) With believe of word that works, ask or think with expectation from God to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think.

Prayer for today: Ask God for the heart to ask or think from Him.

JESUS’ MARK

FAITH CAPSULE: Peter and John followed Jesus and carried His mark.

Acts 3

Signature of Jesus is His mark. His signature is over the life of man that truly follows Him. As an acclaimed believer of Jesus, do you carry the mark of Jesus or do you desire to have His signature in your life? The sad thing is that many have followed Jesus; many are following Jesus without mark of Jesus in their life. Many are trapped following the signs of Jesus. Indeed, it is always the ones that carry His mark (signature) that will make a mark in this world of challenge.
The Bible recorded, “After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.” (John 6:1-2) The bible identified that the great multitude followed Him because they saw signs which He performed. The multitude then and today only followed Jesus but do not carry the mark of Jesus. Carrying the mark of Jesus makes man to answer for Jesus as a salt and light of the earth. Jesus stated, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5:13-15)
True followers of Jesus are bound to be a light of this wicked world. Matthew 5:16 recorded the word of Jesus, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Peter and John followed Jesus and carried His mark. They were salt and light to live as solution to the needy of world. It was the mark of Jesus in the life of Peter and John that made a certain lame man from the womb received healing. At the gate of the temple called Beautiful, the lame was begging for alms when he paid attention to seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple. It is written, And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”  So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”(Acts 3:4-6) The lame man got his healing.  As an acclaimed believer, carry Jesus’ mark and be a solution to your world.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace to be a solution of your world.

COME OUT OF STAGNATION

FAITH CAPSULE: In the place of stagnation, it is time to call on Jesus for His divine intervention.

Mark 10:46-52

It is written, as Jesus went out of Jericho, “…with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:46-47) Blindness of Bartimaeus placed him in stagnation. With blindness there will be no sight that is needed for man to see when there is need to take the right direction. Evidently when there is no seeing one will remain stagnated making limited or making no choice in life. Blind Bartimaeus stagnated and had his place on the road side to beg.
In life, when a man is blinded in the physical eyes so it is possible for a man to be blind in the spiritual eyes. As a road side blind man, blind Bartimaeus was popular enough that his father’s name could be identified (Timaeus) yet he could not see. Road side which served as avenue for transformation in the life of man is same road where blind Bartimaeus remained stagnated with no transformation.
Are you experiencing stagnation in any form in the journey of your life?
In any form of stagnation, it is time you call on Jesus for His divine intervention. Thank God for the blood of Jesus that was shed on the Calvary. The shedding of the blood of Jesus is what has made Jesus to be everywhere at every time and ready to answer to every call. During the days of blind Bartimaeus, while Jesus was moving from one location to another location blind Bartimaeus was in the right location to encounter Jesus when he cried out loud for mercy. It could be that it is time for you to identify and accept that your condition needs a loud cry to Jesus. When you cry out to Jesus, ignore the multitude from keeping you quiet. When you cry, call Jesus out as One that you know not as One that you only know about. There is a different between knowing Jesus from knowing about Jesus. Bartimaeus demonstrated that he did not just know about Jesus when he called out Jesus with knowledge. Bartimaeus had the knowledge to cry out as he stated, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” In the calling of Bartimaeus, “…Jesus stood still and commanded Him to be called” (Mark 10:49) The Blind man received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. (Mark 10:52) Bartimaeus came out of stagnation; he became a follower of Jesus. Knowing Jesus is to believe Him to break all cause of stagnation.

Prayer for today: Know God to ask for open the eyes of your heart.

LOOK ONLY TO GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Keep looking up to God that there is no way to be ashamed.

2 Timothy 4

The name of the Lord God is undisputable deliverer. His name is sure strong enough to look upon for deliverance and preservation. Also, looking up to the name of God is running to Him. Proverbs 18:10 declared, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Truly love God to look up to Him. God is a good God that will look upon those who look up to Him as the Psalmist stated, “Look upon me and be merciful to me, as Your custom is toward those who love Your name.” (Psalm 119:132)
Looking up to man is looking away from God. Looking up to man will disappoint man; looking up to man will delay and displace man in the journey of life. Word of man is not true to deliver but it is a proven deceiver.
Believe without doubt; look up to God and know that God is true to deliver. Keep looking up to God that there is no way to be ashamed. God is not a liar; the word of God is a true way to move forward. Word testified, As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” (Psalm 18:30) Do not be a failure by not looking up at His awesomeness. Look up at Him because there is none like Him. The book of Isaiah 64:3-4 confirmed rightly, “When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence. For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.” God is worthy to be looked up at all time.
God is a jealous God. (Exodus 34:14) Worshiping Him is looking up at Him. Worshiping Him is seeking Him and the word buttressed, “…If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.” (1 Chronicles 28:9) When a jealous God is looked up, His attention shall be activated. In His attention to man that look up at Him there is deliverance and preservation for man in this wicked world. The apostle Paul was forsaken; he experienced man’s abandonment but he stated, “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” (2Timoth 4:18)
In this wicked world of today, many worthless things surrounds man to look away from God. Do not look away from God, adapt to the word of God as it is written, “Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way.” (Psalm 119:37)
Prayer for today:
Ask God to keep you looking up to Him alone.
