EXPERIENCING DELAY?

FAITH CAPSULE: A failure not to ignore delay can turn man quickly out of the way of God.

Exodus 32:1-14

Delay can be discouraging in the process of hindrance. In the journey of life, delay off a process can possibly terminate a positive expectation. As a believer, there should be understanding that with God, delay is not a denial. Are you experiencing delay in any area of life? It is important to note that, whenever there is a failure to ignore delay there will be doubt in place. With doubt comes every reason to despise the faithfulness of God that is rooted in the word of God.
It is written, “Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”(Exodus32:1)
Moses’ delay from coming down from going to the mountain caused doubt of the Israelites. The Israelites should have known quite well that God could not have abandoned them, yet they gave self to unnecessary worry. As a result of Moses’ delay unfaithfulness took the faithfulness of the Israelites. The Israelites’ experience of delay caused them to look for another god. The truth is when we wait on God we can never become wasted. In life, some delays are what measure our faithfulness before God. When Moses’ delay became glaring in the sight of the children of Israel, they began to seek for a god to take over from God that cannot be substituted. A failure not to ignore delay can turn man quickly out of the way of God.
Are you experiencing any delay?
Your delay will turn unto deliverance if you trust and wait in the name of Jesus. The Bible declares in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” A state of unexpected delay will definitely generate concern and there will be every reason to be anxious. The word encourages by stating the antidote for anxiousness: Take all to God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, and the peace of God will take over you. Instead of you seeing delay be encouraged by seeing in the word of God. God alone is the One that delivers and He alone is in control of all. Deny delay; declare all His goodness and His mercy that never expire.

Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace to wait patiently on the hand of God.

KNOW TO WAIT

FAITH CAPSULE: Wait and keep looking up from Him.

Psalm 91

Asking, seeking and knocking for God’s intervention is waiting to get open door answer. God is a good God that cares for His creation. Isaiah 64:4 testifies, “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear; nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.”
Are you with understanding that knowing to wait is also rooted in asking, seeking and knocking? Are you one that assumes for answer in time of challenges? God is a caring God who acts for the one who waits for Him. Jesus buttressed, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) (Matthew 21:22) “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22) Waiting by asking, seeking and knocking is the key to receiving from God. However, waiting that is not rooted in understanding that God hears all and answers all at His appointed time will lead to frustration. Where there is frustration rebellion and disobedience reigns.
It is written in Psalm 91:15, “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91:15) Knowing to call on Him will provoke His hand for an undeniable miracle because He is God that is true to His word. The book of Isaiah 58:9 also confirmed God’s faithfulness, “Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am…’”
It was the understanding and knowing to wait that provoked King David in 1 Samuel 22:4, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” It is the heart that trusts to remember calling in the midst of troubling challenges. King David was an example of one with understands to wait and not go to war without looking up to seek the face of God. Twice in 1 Samuel 23, verses 2 and 4, he repeatedly went and inquired from God before going to war against the Philistines.
The Israelites in bondage of over four hundred years cried to God, “And the LORD said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…” (Exodus 3:7-8) God is consistent not fail in honoring His word; do not fail to wait in asking, seeking and knocking.
Look up and ask from Him.

Prayer for today: Ask God to enable you with the grace of focusing in waiting to receive from Him.

GOD KNOWS ALL

FAITH CAPSULE: Knowing that He knows all, it is important to call on Him for all.

Genesis 11:1-9
God alone knows more about all because He alone created all. For God, no qualified doctor was contracted to help God in creating any man. God alone is perfect God of creation. God knows all about all.
God spoke to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5) The word of God to Jeremiah speaks to all without any exception. God alone knows our end from the beginning. Whatever God propose no man can dispose. What God dispose no man can propose it. What are you proposing without asking from God? Knowing that He knows all, it is important to call on Him for all. It does not matter what you are, who you are, or where you are. You have to remember that all are under heaven and not beyond the Creator’s reach.
In the bible days people did not propose before God that knows about all intention, “And they said, ‘Come let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.’” (Genesis 11:4) The proposed building was not the problem, but the motive behind the proposal was in conflict with the Almighty God of creation. Having been blessed with a plain land where there was obstruction for construction, the people wanted to construct and grow beyond their boundary.
Are you proposing of abusing God’s blessing by attempting to make yourself a name instead of having His name to be glorified? Do you want to stand tall above and know better than your creator? Are you also considering raising your shoulder above your head? Have you taken all proposed to God? Nothing is wrong in proposing to grow big or to multiply in the blessings of God. The proposal, however, that does not center on God is an indirect withdrawal from the only One who can make or unmake the fulfillment of the proposal.
It does not matter how huge or small is your proposal; take it to Him today in prayer. Let it be that you are letting Him know what He has already known. He has seen the future from the past. He is a jealous God and He deserves all your attention so He can attend to you even more than you expectation. Take all your proposals, desires, hopes and dreams to the Lord with a humble heart and He will increase you.

Prayer for today: Ask for grace and praise God with all your heart.

PRESERVING SALT

FAITH CAPSULE: Be a salt that seasons the world with good and acceptable contributions.

Matthew 5:1-15

In life, commands of God demands nothing but full obedience and no iota of middle ground. Obeying God’s command provokes blessing while disobedience provokes curse. The book of revelation talked about middle ground, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16) As a believer, you are either one who contributes to the earth as a preserver or one who contributes as a non-preserver (destroyer). In the Bible days, there was no refrigerator that could be used for preserving food but salt. When Jesus talked about the salt of the earth, He spoke in reference to what the life of a believer should be all about. A believer should be the one bringing impacting changes to his or her environment such as their workplace, neighborhood and family gatherings. Salt, as a preserver, means believers should be agents of preserving the decaying world of sin and iniquity that is around them. Instead, the world is the one that is changing believers lately. Believers should not to be changed by the affairs of this world if they cannot change the world. It is not enough to be fluent in Bible verses if character does not support the fluency of the word in their mouth. Most believers today appears to be quiet claiming that they don’t want to offend anyone by their believe. Does that sound like you?
Imagine this, in the world of a kitchen where there is salt, how can it be that every food that is coming out is tasteless and unacceptable? Jesus said in Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. The salt in the kitchen that is producing a tasteless and unacceptable food has no effect because it is not being used or it has lost its flavor. Are you a kitchen salt (World salt) with no effective? The salt that is not effective has lost its purpose. According to Jesus, salt becomes an underfoot material when it cannot preserve. What kind of salt are you? Boldness in quoting the Word without Godly character to back it up will continue to make you a powerless believer. You are to be a salt that seasons your world with good and acceptable contributions.

Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace to be a preserving agent in your world.

TRUST JOURNEY

FAITH CAPSULE: Trust in God that your present location will soon change for the better.

Exodus 16:1-19

The Bible recorded, “…He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. (Psalm 103:7) The ways of God and the acts of God is evidence of His power. The ways and acts of God is a testimony for man to trust the hand of God. When there is truth there should be reason to trust the promises of God.
The children of Israel knew for sure that they were on a journey to the Promised Land. Without doubt, the Promised Land waited for the arrival of Israelite at God’s appointed time. Despite all, they could not rest in the truth and promises of God.  Israelites saw the great hand of God at work but could not confide that He that began a good thing will take them to an expected end. God made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel yet they could not maintain expectation of getting to the Promised Land.
Just like the Israelites, are you busy complaining about where you are now? It does not matter where you are now, it only matters how you are living in the present land.
The children of Israel lost touch and could not hold on to the hand of God that brought them out of bondage of over four hundred years. The bible stated, They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert.” (Psalm 106:13-14) Does it sound like you story? Determination will fail you, only be constantly remembered that you are on a journey and God has given you all what is needed to go through your journey. The children of Israel had what was necessary for their journey to Promised Land but they could not wait for His counsel.
God put in place good food, but they could not stop asking for tasty food. Exodus 16:3, “And the children of Israel said to them, ‘Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.’” Trust in God that your present location will soon change for the better. You will eat better food than what you have missed. Trust in Him; He will take you to your expected end. Accept all that He has put in place until you get to the expected end.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace of God to help you and not to become a rebellious vessel.
