GROW FOR GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Be grown in the word of God to live for the glory of God.

Genesis 3

Be in construction mode for God.
To be constructed for God is a lifetime.
To build up for God is an ongoing process.
Growing is a non-stop process.
Among the characteristics that support growth is giving heart to God.
Worship Him by praising Him for His loving kindness and His truth.
All must be growing in God.
The word of God is the only source to grow before God.
Psalm 138:3 identified the word of God, “You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”
Why not give oneself to the builder, the word of God?
The apostle Paul admonishes all,“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
Realising and giving oneself to be built up for God calls for responsibility.
Responsibility before God leads to a relationship with God.
Responsibility to be living a righteous life before God will count as a believer, just like Abraham.
James 2:23 records, “…Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.”
Abraham lives a life of responsibility to have a relationship with God.
God gave Adam a word for his responsibility when He said, “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
Adam was not responsible by the word of God and could not be moved, but acted irresponsibly in conversation with Eve as she conversed with the serpent (devil). Genesis 3:1-3 records the conversation between the serpent and Eve,“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
A failure by Eve for not communicating the word of God with the serpent was an irresponsible conversation, a lack of responsibility that broke up the relationship of Adam and Eve with God.
God sent Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden.
Jesus demonstrated the responsibility of communicating the word of God to avoid the evil devices at all times.
Become built by the word of God to live by the word.
Responsibility before God demands living by the word of God in every way, not to become a victim of evil.

Prayer for today: Ask that God will enable you to grow and live by His word.
