2 Samuel 6

The wrongdoing of Uzzah in the place of doing right caused him to be reduced to untimely death.
MAKING WRONG DECISION REDUCES SUCH
Uzzah placed his hand on the ark of God when he had no excuse before God.
2 Samuel 6:6-7 states, “And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.”
The word of God had warned all not to touch any holy thing, lest they die (Numbers 4:15).
The life of Uzzah was cut short (life reduced); Uzzah died a sudden death because of his lack of knowledge, doing right in a wrong way.
Uzzah made a wrong decision on his own.
PRIDE WILL REDUCE
Pride will reduce its client not do according to the word of God.
Pride is a personal drive to self-destruction.
One without knowledge to identify when driven by empty pride will deny repentance, ending in destruction of pride.
The number of pages, from Genesis to Revelation, records the evil of pride.
Proverbs 16:18  records: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Job 35:12 states, “There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.”
1 John 2:16 states, “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.”
Pride is a character that almost terminates Naaman.
2 Kings 1:1 described Naaman as: “The commander of the army of the king of Syria was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.”
Naaman was reduced in life.
Naaman was a leper.
Naaman could not fully live life as described by his disease.
Naaman was directed to the prophet Elisha for his healing.
For the prescription for healing, Elisha sent Naaman to go and wash in the Jordan seven times. Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? “
Naaman experienced mercy from God; otherwise, his pride would have made him live as a leper all the days of his life.
Naaman was redirected back to the prescription for his healing before Elisha.
The pride in Naaman subsided. He obeyed Elisha, though he walked away at first.
Naaman, in his pride, delayed his healing, but he escaped a lifetime as a leper.

Prayer for today: Pray against what represents force that reduces arrival to the calling of God.
