Being Evil

FAITH CAPSULE: Being evil takes away or destroys that which is good.

Judges 6:1-10

It is only the fear God that will make man to depart from evil. With the lack of fear for God man is set to be bound in evil doing. Being evil or doing that which is evil does not add up for any man even when it seems to be adding up. Being evil takes away or destroys that which is good. Do you truly fear Him on the ground which He has positioned you for blessing? Not to fear Him where He has positioned you to be is a direct route to fall, fail or falter and eventually lost of ground of blessing. Once in the days of Judges, the children of Israel turned to evil when they fail to fear God. As a result of their failure to fear God, God passed them to the evil hand in the very land which He gave them. It is written, “Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD. So the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds, which are in the mountains.” (Judges 6:1-2) The children of Israel departed from fearing God and entered into evil. As a result, the Israelites left behind a God-given land and made for themselves a hiding place in dens, caves, and strongholds. For the Israelites, it was not supposed to be. They had a God-given land and could not retain it because they had attended and attained what is not of God.
When God gives, He does not give sparingly so do not spare yourself from serving Him indeed and in truth. When He bless, he does not add sorrow. Anytime there is a move from God-made to self-made it is evil and God will withdraw His hand. God withdrew His hand, “So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.” (Judges 6:3-4) They suffered greatly because they withdrew from God by their evil act. Are you experiencing unexpected, unceasing attack on your God given ground? Cave or any other kind of hideouts is not your portion on the ground He has placed you. Will you search and see if there is any wicked way in you? No man is perfect except God and He alone knows every man’s heart.

Prayer for today: Ask God to search you, try you, fix you, and lead you from all kinds of wicked ways into the way everlasting. He is faithful and He answers prayer.

He Will Meet Your Need

FAITH CAPSULE: Impossible to follow Jesus and be condemned unto lack.

Matthew 6:25, Mark 8:1-10

Jesus cannot and will not look away from every kind of need in the life of those who follow Him. He is a God of provision and preservation. To Jesus, it does not matter how minor or major your challenge may be, but trusting Him to deliver will always provoke His hand to deliverance. Are you having any reason for concern in Him meeting certain needs in your life? Location or number will not deny or limit the move of His hand meeting your need. It is written, “In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them, ‘I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.’” (Mark 8:1-3) It is not possible to continue with Jesus and be condemned unto lack. The multitude continued with Jesus and nothing possible could have left them uncared for. His disciples’ responded, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” (Mark 8:4) His disciples’ response to Him calling for the need of the people demonstrated the level of their care by virtue of the surrounding situation. Jesus alone, no man will violate whatever situation is directly or indirectly set to deny your needs being met.
What is it that you are worrying yourself about? This is what Jesus has to say in Matthew 6:25: “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” Jesus’ declaration is enough to serve as an encouragement to meeting your need. He met greater need than your need in the wilderness by using seven loaves and few small fish to serve multitudes. The Bible recorded what happened after He made provision for the multitudes stating, “…they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments. Now those who had eaten were about four thousand.” (Mark 8:8-9)  As He was, so He is today. Jesus is alive and still doing what He did when He was on the face of this earth as a man. Jesus knows exactly what you need and how soon your need calls for. Jesus will not only meet your need to satisfaction, but He will meet you at the appointed time when it is not too early or too late to serve your purpose. He is a compassionate God who will always be faithful to all of His followers.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace not to look away from Jesus.

Week Of Possibility

FAITH CASULE: Do you believe indeed that with God nothing is impossible?

Luke 1: 1-56

Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.  He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest…” (Luke 1:31-32) Indeed, Mary was not afraid as commanded by the angel. However, she was sincere by demanding from the angel rather than disputing, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34) The angel responded to Mary by giving her unimaginable and impossible answer to her question. However, the angel concluded in his answer stating, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Do you believe indeed that with God nothing is impossible? Are you paying attention to the infallible word of God? Can you count on the promises encased in His word after you have become fully obedient to what it takes for the promises to be unleashed on you? It is true that every of His blessing demands responding to His request. Mary was not afraid as commanded; she did not question the validity of the word of the angel; Mary did not ridicule the angel; Mary did not enter into debate over the message neither was there any emotional breakdown. By virtue of her faith, she only responded, “Let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)
Absolutely and definitely nothing is impossible with God. What is it that is representing impossibility in your life? What is it that has kept you stagnated all or most of your life? What is the mountain that refused to move for your breakthrough? If you will believe it and receive it in you that with God nothing is impossible, then God will do the infallible proof in your situation. The only impossibility for your miracle is the possibility that you are religious and yet to encounter Christ reality. Can you imagine a man lame from the mother’s womb receiving his healing at the name of Jesus? The same name yesterday is the same name today, and just as the name worked for the disciples then it has been working for the believers today.
Our faith in the Living Word of God will undoubtedly move mountain of stagnation. Jesus states it better, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) Engage waiting on Him by praying and fasting and you will see your impossibility converted to possibility.

Prayer for today: Ask for the grace to be a steadfast carrier and believer of the word of God.

Listen To Him

FAITH CAPSULE: With the Word of God, your pain will be converted to good gain.

Mark 5:1-20

The word is the master of all creating creators. When it sounds it can never be denied. Blind hears and receive sight; deaf hears and gain hearing; the lost listen and regain direction. The Word is power to make every knee bow. John 1:1-5 describes the word, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
The Bible described a mad man “who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.” (Mark 5:3-5) it is justifiable for him to be called the father of all mad. There is no any other case of madness in the Scriptures that measure up to his madness. Evidently, he was not bound-able since he could pull chains apart. The mad man’s case presented untouchable challenges. Do you have a case that is exceedingly untouchable and very complicated with no hope at sight? The Word sounded in direction of the mad man stating, “…Come out of the man, unclean spirit!”(Mark 5:8) At the sound of the word, the mad man regained his right mind. Jesus the living Word of God will speak to your situation; He will not let you be wasted in your journey of life. He will cause all of your torment to be reversed for good. With the Word of God, your pain will be converted to good gain.
Does your case present a no way out situation like that of the mad man? The same Jesus is nearer to you than you can imagine. Today, begin to worship Him. Stop looking at your situation through natural eyes and begin to look up to Jesus. He is the living Word of God and He will speak to your situation if you will listen to receive His word of deliverance. The Word that has been sounding in your direction through the pages of Bible is the Word of God. The Word of God is God and God is His Word. What is it that is tormenting your life? The Word of God is the way of living life abundantly. When you begin to listen to the Word of God, you will undoubtedly walk away from the way of death.

Prayer for today: Ask for the word to sound in your direction.

Rely On God

FAITH CAPSULE: Heart which relies on God will be loyal to Him and it is the evidence of the fear of God.

2 Chronicles 13

It is written, ““…You shall act in the fear of LORD, faithfully and with a loyal heart” (2 Chronicles 19:9) Joseph feared God to rely on God when he refused to commit a grave sin with the wife of his master. David a man after Gods own heart feared; trusted his God and became bold against an unimaginable confrontation when he went out against Goliath. Paul and Silas could not seek any other avenue for their escape from prison but to worship God in praise and prayer. Obedience, trusting and worshiping are the evidence of the fear of God. Heart which fears God is a loyal heart to God. 2 Chronicles 16:9 testifies, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to him…” A loyal heart is a faithful heart which fears and relies on God.
Jeroboam the king of Israel confronted Abijah the king of Judah for war. Jeroboam was set in battle with eight hundred thousand men of war against Abijah’s four hundred thousand men of war. Jeroboam, by virtue of the strength and depth in his men of war, had no need to rely on God but self while Abijah relied on God. Abijah warned Jeroboam, “Now look, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for you shall not prosper!” (2 Chronicles 13:12) Despite the warning, Jeroboam chose to go forward relying on man’s strength to prevail against Abijah’s reliance on God. It is written, “But Jeroboam caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the LORD, and the priests sounded the trumpets.” (2 Chronicles 13:13-14) Abijah took three steps to attain his victory: The people cried out to the Lord; the priests sounded trumpets which represented alarming call to heaven and the men of Judah gave a shout. Abijah trusted God, “Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time; and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD God of their fathers.” (2 Chronicles 13:18). God sees the heart and He will not fail to spot out the ones that rely on Him. A heart that relies on God will be loyal to Him and it is the evidence of the fear of God.

Prayer for today: Ask God to take over your heart and cause you not to have any reason to rely on any other God.
