FAITH CAPSULE: Be consistent and diligent in finding God.
Daniel 6
Seek God diligently to find Him.
Seeking God is not a play but a costly labour.
One who is not seeking God diligently is bound not to find Him.
Deuteronomy 4:29 identifies what it takes to find God: “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
As a believer, has it ever been your desire to encounter the presence of God?
The majority have no desire to encounter God in their experience.
Excuses of inconvenience occupy the majority, not aligning with the desire to engage the presence of God.
Continuity eschews inconvenience and answers with the commitment that those who seek God continually, with no excuse for the inconvenience, in every area of seeking after God.
With continuity, those who give themselves to serving the Lord God will gain the experience of God.
Search yourself to know whether you trust and hope in God by continually keeping His word.
The Psalmist testifies to the character of one who strives to walk in God.
Psalm 71:14 records “But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.”
With continuity, Joseph served God by walking away from sin.
Joseph refused the pressure to lie, but not lie with the wife of his master.
Genesis 39:8-9 records the response of Joseph to the wife of his master, “But he refused and said to his master’s wife, ‘Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Abstaining from sin is an avenue to avoid sin before God continually. Joseph testified his stand before God, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
Joseph demonstrated a mind for God, not to derail his continuity of commitment, before God.
Daniel continually served God, walking with God.
An unbelieving king recognized Daniel as a servant of the living God.
Unwillingly, after King Darius sentenced Daniel to an untimely death in the den of lions, he spoke to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” (Daniel 6:16) The Bible documents the loss of sleep of King Darius, waiting for the morning hour to check the demonstration of the faith of Daniel.
Daniel 6:19-20 records, “Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
King Darius, an unbeliever, recognized that Daniel could not go wrong as a believer in God.
Be known for God, seek God diligently.
Prayer for today: Ask that you will serve God continually.
